Graduating with a sports marketing degree, what is your dream job?

Tough one, I am a dreamer with a-lot of dreams, some which are to remain unsaid ha! Off the top of my head, I would love to work with ESPN, FOX Sports, or a sports team such as the Lakers…but just to work with a credible company within the sports world (action or mainstream) is a dream in itself!

Did you ever drop in on the Backwater with the WSR riders at Canyon Lake?

Not on the Backwater, just on the main lake.

Who is your favorite pro wakeboarder?

Shawn Watson is pretty sick and Melissa Marquardt would be my favorite female wake boarder-she is a California girl.

What is the coolest thing you have ever seen with your own two eyes?

I have seen some awesome sights in Australia and Paris as well as other places, but off the top of my head watching the Red Bull Stratos Jump really caught my attention, especially because I have been dying to go skydiving!!

What does your fitness program consist of?

I got lucky with good genes, but when I’m determined, I bust my butt in the gym with cardio and weights. A little hike overlooking the ocean isn’t that bad either  . I dig fresh juices too!

What are some of your other interests?

I’m a complete sucker for sporting events, but I also enjoy the beach, sunsets, traveling around the world, and summer BBQ s’ with good friends and/or family.

Turn ons: A guy who is motivated, outgoing, confident- but not cocky, athletic and adventurous.

Turn offs: Liars and Players. Cant handle it, wont handle it.

In this week's episode of Getting Awesome, Ryan Nyquist touches down in southern California for an epic day of dirt trail riding with the boys! Kicking things off in Heath Pinter's backyard, Ryan's excited to hit a spot he's seen plenty of footage from but hadn't yet had a chance to ride. Cruising through the morning everyone has a good time before breaking for lunch. Ryan packs up and continues on to Stephen Murray's house. Stephen has created a BMX dirt playground in his backyard with plenty of lines and an insane off the balcany to mega dirt jump set up! Ryan rides hard, stomps a few tricks and even takes a few slams. If you're not limping a bit after a day like this you we're trying hard enough!

Double Podium for Rockstar Energy Suzuki World MX1 in Brazil!

Clement Desalle:

“After the big crash in Portugal I couldn’t really train like I wanted in the week and I could feel it this weekend. It is really positive to get up here on the podium because my feeling was not that perfect on the track, especially in the second moto where the weather and conditions seemed to get to me a little bit. I had a good battle with Max in the first moto and sometimes it was a bit frustrating. I had a small problem with my goggles and lost a second-and-a-half at one point but was able to fight back. We were together the whole race. I felt that the track was short for a 450. It was not that tricky because the speed wasn’t so high but there were a lot of jumps and waves and other stuff. The ground was good and I could control the power of the bike with plenty of traction so that was a positive thing. I think the track would be better if there were some simpler sections. We go to America now and this will be a different kind of training and hopefully a good experience.”

Kevin Strijbos:

“I felt really good out there, especially in the second moto! We had a good weekend in terms of getting the set-up right and we made the right choice with my rear shock and then made another change for the second moto. I enjoyed that holeshot and I pushed really hard in the beginning because I knew I would need a gap over Tony when I saw he was in second place. Later on he came closer and closer and I got a bit tired, Tony passed me in a corner and I couldn’t really follow him and he made the gap quickly with just two laps to go. In the end I’m really happy to be on the podium again and to take the first one of the season. We worked really hard in the winter and I hope there will be more trophies ahead!”

Cooper Webb stuns everybody in his first ever professional race!

Cooper Webb: "I got off to a really good start and was running 3rd. I got passed by a couple guysand went back to 6th. At about the 20 minute mark, I passed back into 5th. I tried to make a late race charge for 4th but I just couldn't quite get close enough. It was an awesome first race for me and I couldn't have been much happier"

Beto Carrero GP of Brazil Race Report - Rockstar Energy BUD Racing Kawasaki

Dylan Ferrandis was representing the team Rockstar Bud Racing Kawasaki in Brazil, for the seventh round of the 2013 Motocross World Championship. Tenth of the event, the French kid will come back home with some frustration after being stopped by another rider at the start of the Superfinal.

Regular venue for the Motocross GP’s, Brazil and his fans met in a great atmosphere the World Championship riders, who joined for the second year in a row the track of Beto Carrero near the southern cost. Looking like a great Supercross with grandstands all around the artificial track, this GP has been as successful as last year with 25000 noisy and passionate fans that faced the humidity and some rain during the weekend.

Fourth during both practice sessions on Saturday and a third on sunday's morning warm up, Dylan had good expectations for the races. He got on Sunday an amazing start in the MX2 moto to initially hold third place, but a crash pushed him downfield before he put in a strong recovery back to sixth place, only to surrender two places late in the race after he was forced to discard his goggles due to big projections.

For the third and last time of the season the MX1 and MX2 raced together in the Superfinal and once more it was a disaster for the MX2 riders who were unable to compete on this layout with the powerful 450. Dylan was severely handicapped when another rider crashed in his path at the first corner, but despite this handicap he stormed back through the pack to finish seventh in class.

Dylan Ferrandis: “ On Saturday the track was nice to ride, but it was so flat that everyone was going fast and the qualifying race was boring; my start was not so good and I could only qualify fourteenth. In the MX2 race I got a great start and was third in the first corner, and was still fifth when I crashed. I recovered to sixth place again and battled with Tixier, Pocock and Butron until I had to take off my goggles and finished eighth. The start of the Superfinal was a disaster; Coldenhoff crashed and I got his handlebar in my rear wheel! I recovered from last place to ninth, but I was expecting more as I have the speed to be in the top five now. The track was rougher today after the rain, it was much better than on Saturday when they flat it so much that it was impossible to make the difference. I hope that I will have no more troubles at the next GP in France; I enjoyed the track of Ernée, last year at the French Elite I got some good results there and I have great expectations for this race.”

ROCKSTAR OFFROAD TEARS UP THE TRACK IN LAKE ELSINORE

The Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS), the nation’s fastest growing short course off road racing series, made its 2013 Southern California premier at the Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park in Lake Elsinore, California over the weekend.

The weekend’s big news was that both the Pro 2 and Pro Lite division would be absent of current points leader, Brian Deegan. Deegan, who was in Europe to participate in X Games Barcelona, took advantage of a substitute driver rule allowing a replacement to race and retain any points earned. Driving his Pro 2 truck was Rockstar teammate, Todd LeDuc, and filling in for the Pro Lite division was Andrew Caddell.

Round 5 Race Recap – Saturday, May 18:

Pro 4 – At the drop of the green flag the #32 Mickey Thompson/Toyota of Eric Barron lead the field into turn one followed by the LeDuc brothers, Kyle LeDuc in 2nd place driving the #99 Monster Energy/Toyo Tires truck and Todd LeDuc in 3rd place driving the #7 Rockstar Energy/Maxxis truck.

Kyle Leduc pressured Barron for the lead until a flat tire slowed his efforts causing him to pull off the track. Todd LeDuc was next in line to pursue Barron until he suffered a mechanical malfunction forcing him to retire from the race.

Carl Renezeder, now in 2nd place, closed the gap on Barron and made a pass for the lead late in the final laps and winning the Pro4 division.

Carl Renezeder’s win in Round 5 marks his seventh win in a row with rounds one through five of the 2013 season and the final two rounds of 2012. Rounding out the podium was early leader Barron in 2nd and Brandon Bailey who drove the #77 Stronghold Motorsports truck to a career best 3rd place position.

Pro Lite – With a staggering lineup of 27 competitors, the Pro Lite division for Round 5 was the largest field of the day. A zero position inversion after qualifying meant top qualifiers, #74 AM Ortega’s Sheldon Creed and #51 Lunar Pages/Rockstar Energy’s Ryan Beat, would be on the front row with Creed sitting on pole.

Early race contender Bradley Morris was forced to retire due to a mechanical malfunction and current points leader Casey Currie found himself mid pack after being pushed off track on lap one. Defending Pro Lite Champion RJ Anderson ran 2nd in the early stages of the race until a suspension failure brought out the yellow flag.

On the restart, Creed inched away from Andrew Caddell, filling in for Brian Deegan who was being chased by the #51 Lunar Pages/Rockstar Energy of Ryan Beat. Following Beat was first time Pro Lite racer Jimmy Fishback making his LOORRS Pro Lite debut.

At the checkered flag it was Creed who took the win followed by replacement driver Caddell with a 2nd place finish. Rounding out the podium was Jimmy Fishback taking 3rd place in his Pro Lite debut.

Pro 2 – As racers lined up, it was Deegan’s #38 replacement, Todd LeDuc, sitting on pole. Leduc took command early in the race as veteran racers Carl Renezeder and Rob MacCachren battled nearly 10 laps wheel to wheel for 2nd place. MacCachren driving the Rockstar Energy/Makita Power Tools #21 eventually made the pass on Renezeder and moved into 2nd place behind LeDuc. MacCachren made several attempts to pass LeDuc and came into the last corner of the final lap neck and neck, but LeDuc carried his momentum on the outside and took the win.

The win would mark LeDuc’s first Pro 2 victory in several years and give valuable points to Deegan. MacCachren came in 2nd place and Renezeder took the final podium position in 3rd place for the Pro 2 division.

Race Recap – Sunday, May 19:

Pro 4 – Starting on row 1 was #17 Lucas Oil/General Tire sponsored racer Carl Renezeder and the #21 Rockstar Energy/Makita Power Tools backed racer Rob MacCachren. At the drop of the green flag Renezeder lead the charge into turn one followed by Kyle LeDuc, who made a quick pass on MacCachren, closely followed by brother Todd LeDuc.

Saturday’s runner up, Eric Barron, was forced to withdraw from the race on lap 2 after encountering motor problems.

On the re-start the driver order was Carl Renezeder, Kyle LeDuc, and Rob MacCachren followed by Todd LeDuc. Almost in unison, the LeDuc brothers suffered mechanical problems leading to Todd LeDuc’s withdrawal from the race and the slowing of Kyle LeDuc.

The caution flag came out again on lap 5 as the #22 Lunar Pages/Rockstar Energy of Ryan Beat stalled on the racetrack.

On the second restart, Renezeder lead, followed by MacCachren and Adler.

The remaining 10 laps were all green flag racing and spectators were treated to a great race between MacCachren and Renezeder. Never getting more than a few feet from each other the two racers battled to the checkers with Renezeder taking the win, followed closely by MacCachren in 2nd place.

Pro 2 – Pro 2 racers took to the track for the final race of the weekend at Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park.

Holding down the #1 spot on the grid was #17 Lucas Oil/General Tire backed driver Carl Renezeder who shared the front row with Rob MacCachren in his #21 Rockstar Energy/Makita Power Tools truck. Behind the two veteran racers on row two was the #15 Ready Lift backed Marty Hart and Todd LeDuc driving the #38 Rockstar Energy/Metal Mulisha for Brian Deegan.

MacCachren quickly took the lead over both Carl Renezeder and Kyle LeDuc. With 10 laps to go the yellow flag flew as the #9 Truck of Mike Porter caught fire on the race track. When racing resumed MacCachren once again led the way over Renezeder, Kyle LeDuc and Todd LeDuc.

Two laps later Todd LeDuc experienced a mechanical issue that slowed him and allowed the #99 Lucas Oil Slick Mist of Robby Woods to move into the #4 position.

With 2 laps to go the yellow flag came out again setting up a green, white and checkered flag race to the finish. Kyle LeDuc was bumped from 3rd to 9th place which allowed Woods to move up into the 3rd place position.

At the checkered flag it was MacCachren in 1st place, Renezeder in 2nd place and Woods in 3rd place.

Rounds 7 and 8 of the series will take place June 21-23 at the Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah.

Hangtown Motocross Classic Race Report - Rockstar Energy Racing

Rockstar Energy Racing migrated to Northern California for the opening round of the Lucas Oil Outdoor Pro Motocross Championship at Hangtown MX in Rancho Cordova. The Dirt Diggers track crew always brings in several dump truck loads of rice husk to mix into the soil to hold moisture and create lines on the track built on the Prairie ORV National Park's land. The result is one of the roughest tracks of the year and a nightmare for all suspension technicians trying to dial in their riders bikes. This presents an impossible task to make the bikes perfect and a great way to kick off the season. Nearly every rider on the team came in dealing with some sort of adversity except for Jason Anderson. However Jason came across issues of his own in both motos 1 and 2.

Ryan Sipes came to round 1 filling in for the injured Davi Millsaps for the 2013 MX season in the 450 class. Ryan was just racing a 250 two short weeks ago in Las Vegas. That means he had very little time to adapt and test on the larger bike. That is tough when racing at this level. Sipes exceeded all expectations anyone had for him given the circumstances. He simply rode amazing. Most impressive was his stamina. He came out on a very gnarly track with 200 more CC's and was charging through the last lap. If round 1 is any indication, Sipes will be vying for top 5's right away.

Ryan Sipes: "I thought it was a good weekend. I didn't really know where I stood comin into this thing and I just wanted to come up here, be consistent, finish the motos strong and it worked out. Hangtown is one of my least favorite tracks but I just tried to grind it out and not slow down. 6th overall is the best I've ever done here so I'm alright with it."

Unlike Jason Anderson's teammates, he came in with nothing outside weighing on him but the pressure of being a podium guy. Jason's results on paper, in no way tell the story of how great he really rode. In moto one he was involved in an incident that collected several riders. He came back from outside the top 30 to find himself cross the finish line in 12th. The second moto, he started out much better quickly moving into 3rd place. But then he unexpectedly began to move backwards. Turns out that was a result of the adversity that Jason came across on Saturday. He actually lost his rear brakes in both motos. On a track with massive braking bumps going down steep hills and high speed step-ups landing right into corners, what he did was beyond stellar. Anderson managed to salvage 7th overall by the end of the day and it is very clear that he really does harbor podium speed.

Jason Anderson: "Hangtown was alright. I lost my brakes. Got 12th in the first moto, 6th in the second moto, rode good but I'm a little frustrated. Going to come out swinging even harder next weekend in Colorado."

Blake Wharton had been struggling with breathing throughout the entire Supercross season. After seeing a doctor it was discovered that he was suffering from a deviated septum. Not being able to pull oxygen in through your nose can cause multiple problems including muscle fatigue and arm pump. Blake had a surgery to repair this which will help him greatly as the season moves on but he was forced to stay off the bike for a while prior to the race. Round 2 will be much better for Wharton as he even made a substantial improvement from moto 1 to moto 2.

Blake Wharton: "Hangtown is always an interesting race. First round, takes me a while to get going sometimes it seems. I just back from my surgery on my septum. So it was good to ride my bike. I knew it would be tough in the first round after having some time off. The first moto was terrible for me to be honest. I had some issues for sure. The second moto I knew I could do better, and it was better. I ran up front for a while and I gotta race my way back into consistency. Gonna go into next round and try to improve."

Nico Izzi had a weekend to forget. However, forgetting the weekend is exactly what Izzi needs to do. He spent a lot of time away from racing after having his knee surgically repaired. There is no amount of riding or training that can mimic actual racing. You can ride at a practice track every day for months, but nothing compares to lining up behind the gate with your toughest competitors. It will certainly take Nico a couple rounds to get the racing edge back and that is what was expected.

Nico Izzi: "First moto I felt ok for about 20 minutes. I had a minor tip over about halfway, I was in 8th when I did that. Got passed by a couple guys and went back to to 10th. Then I stalled the back and went back to 23rd. It kinda took a lot of energy out of me. The second moto I had about a 25th place start. I just need better starts and try to build up my intensity a bit. It's the first race back and I just have to build."

Rockstar Energy racing will head east of the Rocky Mountains next week to overcome the challenge of a track over a mile high above sea level in Lakewood, CO. Sipes will look to build on a successful round 1. Anderson will expect to find his way to a podium finish. Wharton and Izzi will try to improve on their performances getting back to form. The team will be joined by Clement Desalle and Kevin Strijbos of the Rockstar Energy Suzuki World MX1 Team out of Belgium. The duo will be coming fresh off a double podium in Beto Carrero at the GP of Brazil and will try to do the same against the best in the US.

Beto Carrero GP of Brazil Race Report - Rockstar Energy Suzuki World MX1

Team Suzuki Press Office - May 20.

Rockstar Energy Suzuki World MX1 riders Clement Desalle and Kevin Strijbos grabbed second and third positions overall on their RM-Z450s at an overcast Beto Carrero for round seven of 17 in the FIM Motocross World Championship in front of 45,000 spectators.

Cloudy, humid and rainy conditions affected the meeting at the impressive facility north of Florianopolis. Showers throughout the night and also light downpours during race day kept the red terrain slick and clumpy. The layout itself was a tight and twisty combination of jumps, waves and off-cambers where overtaking needed a considered move.

Desalle began the Grand Prix in good form and rode to a fast and easy second place on Saturday for the second choice of slots in the gate for the first MX1 moto. The last running of the Superfinal format for the season saw the Belgian take to the line according to his championship position, so that meant one rank lower and third spot.

The opening moto of the day saw Desalle - celebrating his 24th Birthday - chasing Max Nagl for second position. He was a constant threat behind the German and attacked hard in the final laps but was unable to relegate his rival and secured third place, although was not so content with his rhythm across the Brazilian surface. Desalle again got away positively in the Superfinal and endured a relatively lonely ride to third once more. His combined points total gave him the runner-up ranking for the Grand Prix behind Antonio Cairoli and ensured his fifth spray of champagne this season.

Strijbos maintained his positive run of results in Brazil: The Belgian took a modest and solitary sixth place in the first moto but his fiery start into the lead of the Superfinal was electric stuff. He fronted 16 of the 19 laps ahead of the best 20 MX1 and MX2 riders in the world and was just edged out from victory by Cairoli in the closing stages. His second position was still enough to ensure his second podium in Brazil (the first in 2012) and first in yellow since 2007.

Both riders will now head to the United States to contest the second and third races of the Lucas Oil Pro MX Championship at Thunder Valley at Lakewood, Colorado; and then Blountville in Tennessee the following Saturday before flying back to Europe.

The next Grand Prix appointment for the team will be in Ernee, France on June 8th-9th.

Clement Desalle:

"After the big crash in Portugal I couldn't really train like I wanted in the week and I could feel it this weekend. It was not that tricky because the speed wasn't so high but there were a lot of jumps and waves and other stuff. The ground was good and I could control the power of the bike with plenty of traction so that was a positive thing. I think the track would be better if there were some simpler sections. We go to America now and this will be a different kind of training and hopefully a good experience."

Kevin Strijbos:

"I felt really good out there, especially in the second moto! We had a good weekend in terms of getting the set-up right and we made the right choice with my rear shock and then made another change for the second moto. I enjoyed that holeshot and I pushed really hard in the beginning because I knew I would need a gap over Tony when I saw he was in second place. Later on he came closer and closer and I got a bit tired, Tony passed me in a corner and I couldn't really follow him and he made the gap quickly with just two laps to go. In the end I'm really happy to be on the podium again and to take the first one of the season. We worked really hard in the winter and I hope there will be more trophies ahead!"

Beto Carrero GP of Brazil Race Report - Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe MX2

Team Suzuki Press Office - May 20.

The Grand Prix of Brazil at the impressive stadium setting of Beto Carrero saw Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe's Max Anstie ride to 11th position overall in cool and rainy conditions in front of 45,000 spectators.

The seventh round of 17 in the FIM Motocross World Championship represented the last overseas trip for the series and the last airing of the Superfinal format that mixed the top 20 MX1 and MX2 riders together for the second moto.

Anstie flew to Brazil after a week training and riding at his ranch in Hemet, California and was determined to take his factory-backed RM-Z250 as close to the podium as possible around the compact and twisty red terrain. The layout did not facilitate easy overtaking and occasional showers kept the ground slick and then tacky in places.

In the opening MX2 race Anstie struggled to get an effective rhythm and also find the urgency he needed around the course, and this set the tone for a tough day of work. The Brit rode to 14th and then managed to squeeze inside the top 20 of the Superfinal.

The team now has a respite from international and national race duty. The Grand Prix of France at Ernee on June 9th will be followed directly by the round in Italy and at the mythical Maggiora circuit.

Max Anstie:

"It was a difficult weekend and we struggled. I think we had a good setting and set-up and I came into the weekend with good form but I didn't have the power to push. I wasn't tired but just not 'firing'. We go back to the States for a week and I have some time to sort everything out before coming back to Europe and focus 100% for France. I felt more normal in the Superfinal because I was able to pass guys but still we have problems with the starts and we have worked on a few things but it is at the point now where I'm not sure how much practice we can do! We have all been working really hard and it is time now to sit back in the next three weeks and then let the results come. We just need a little bit of luck on our side."

2013 MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour Season Opens in Acworth

Acworth, Ga.– The world’s top professional wakeboarders opened the 22nd season of the MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour in grand fashion today at Lake Acworth Beach. Taking to the water at Cauble Park, the season-opening day featured remarkable performances from a slew of athletes across all three divisions including last year’s Pro Men’s season champion Harley Clifford.

Looking as focused and talented as ever, MasterCraft team rider Clifford used the X-Star’s huge wake to put on a fan pleasing run that was highlighted by massive aerials, gravity-defying rotations and technical rail work. Clifford placed first in his heat, posted a division high-score of 90.00 and advanced to tomorrow’s quarterfinals. In addition to Clifford’s performance, fan favorite Rusty Malinoski also put in a top-tier run posting an 88.33 score to claim his heat and place him as a favorite going into the final day of competition.

“It’s great to start another season of the MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour here in Acworth,” said Chris Bischoff, competition director. “The city is great to work with, the venue is a favorite among the athletes and the conditions on the lake today, matched with the perfect wake from the X-Star, things were firing on all cylinders.”

The Pro Women also showed up in Acworth in top form. Leading the charge were Nicola Butler and Raimi Merritt, who both put in scores of 73.33 to tie for the day’s best among the females. The sport’s all-time winningest woman, Dallas Friday, also dropped a stellar score of 71.33 and will be among the six finalists tomorrow.

Wakeboarding’s future stars in the Overton’s Junior Pro Series competed at today’s event as well. Poised to have a huge year, Aussie-ripper Tony Iacconi had a perfect run posting the day’s only 100-point ride. The Junior Pro Men will commence competition again tomorrow with the semifinals elimination round followed by the finals.

Following the final rounds of action on Saturday, fans can stay for the jaw-dropping Polaroid Action Big-Air Contest. The event will feature top athletes performing exciting and innovative new tricks that aren’t typically attempted in a traditional contest setting.

Immediately following the event, a Block Party will be held in Historic Downtown Acworth that will feature an awards ceremony, live music, outdoor dining opportunities, and much more.  The Block Party will run from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.  Parking will be available in Historic Downtown Acworth and shuttles will be running from various locations to bring visitors down to the party.

Tickets for Saturday’s finals are available online for $7 (46% off the gate price) and include an exclusive Overton’s discount code for online buyers only. Gate prices are: $13 (adult); $5 (ages 6-12); free (ages 5 and under).

Mike Mason Wins Gold in Speed & Style at X Games Barcelona

Mike Mason's Friday night got off to a rocky start after a scoring mix-up during the Speed & Style quarterfinals posted a loss against Jose Miralles, sending Mason back to the pits thinking his night of competing was over. Once notified of the error, he and his mechanics were able to re-assemble his rented bike just in time for the final round against Mat Rebeaud. A three-second lead and higher style points earned the veteran racer gold! With this win, Mason has become Speed & Style's first repeat gold medalist. His first win was in 2012.

Congratulations, Mike Mason!

Simon Tabron Wins Silver in BMX Vert at X Games Barcelona

Congratulations to Simon Tabron on taking silver in BMX Vert at X Games Barcelona! Tabron almost unseated 7-time BMX Vert champion, Jamie Bestwick, with a tied score of 91.00, but ultimately the tiebreaker gave the edge to Bestwick (the five judges' scores from the top-scoring runs are averaged to break a tie).

Tabron will have to wait until 2014 to once again take on the now 8-time champion, as BMX Vert will not be contested at X Games Munich or X Games Los Angeles this year.

Rockstar Energy BUD Racing Kawasaki Double Victory!

Dylan Ferrandis: “My goal this weekend was to get a top 3 and score as many points as possible and after my MX2 win I had a great super final. I was next to Aranda on the grid and I came fourth in the first corner, but there was some confusion in the first uphill and I lost some positions. I came back second behind Greg, that’s a great result on the track against the 450. I keep the red plate and now the goal is to have it after the last round in three weeks, in Gaillac. It’s great for the mental to score such good results after my disappointment in second moto in Portugal, it’s a boost for the World Championship and I hope that we’ll have good racing conditions in Brazil next week-end.”

Gregory Aranda: “ It’s a perfect day for me with the pole position, two holeshot and two heat wins. I think that I’m back to the level I had last year, and I will continue to train and work to get even more. I didn’t took any risks today, for sure when you get two holeshot it’s easier; in the first race I had some arms pumped, and in the second one I didn’t want to crash as I wanted to win both heats. It’s great to win after such a difficult period; I didn’t know what to expect after the last injury, and I had to work hard to be back; two weeks after my injury I had only one goal, to be back on my bike and I want to thanks team Rockstar Bud Kawasaki and my mechanic for their support.”

St. Jean D'Angely French Elite Series Race Report - Rockstar BUD Racing Kawasaki

The penultimate round of the French Elite Motocross championship was a great one for team Rockstar Bud Racing Kawasaki, who dominates both classes. Winner of the MX2 classification Dylan Ferrandis is strongly leading the ‘Internationaux de France’ while Greg Aranda claimed his first double win this season in the MX1 class.

Nobody was able to ride with the Bud riders this weekend, as Dylan and Greg didn’t let anything to their rivals. Best lap time during the practice session, holeshot and all the heat wins were for Greg and Dylan in Saint Jean d’Angely!

Fastest rider in the timed practice period, Dylan Ferrandis had a quiet MX2 race. He grabbed the holeshot and then controls Benoit Paturel, taking even more advantage when they joined the lapped riders to win the heat twenty seconds ahead his rival. Very confident before the super final he had some strong moves after the start to come in fourth place; he passed Paturel for third, and then reduced the gap with Fabien Izoird on a 450. He passed him after mid race to finish runner up behind Aranda and best MX2 rider.

Back to his best form and pole position in the MX1 class, Gregory Aranda had dreaming starts in both races, MX1 heat and super final. Leading the race in the first corner Greg posted some fast laps to secure his leadership; in the MX1 race Soubeyras who was second crashed, so Greg could save some energy for the super final; once more leader in the first corner he had no opposition in this race and scored his first double win this season. A great reward after his injuries earlier this season, and an encouraging performance for the coming Euro Supercross season.

Dylan Ferrandis: “My goal this weekend was to get a top 3 and score as many points as possible and after my MX2 win I had a great super final. I was next to Aranda on the grid and I came fourth in the first corner, but there was some confusion in the first uphill and I lost some positions. Agueda GP of Portugal Race Report - Rockstar BUD Racing Kawasaki

French teenager Dylan Ferrandis scored a fifth place moto finish for Rockstar Bud Racing Kawasaki in the Portuguese round of the FIM World MX2 Motocross World Championship at Agueda. Newcomer Jason Clermont scored points in both races, for his first GP with the team.

Agueda has always been a demanding track, and for the first time since Thailand the riders had to face ‘hot temperatures’ with 25°C in Portugal. The ground was rough and slippery on Saturday, and was more wet on Sunday as the organisers watered the track during the night.

Now a top ten regular after a difficult start to the season as he recovered from injuries operation this winter, Dylan Ferrandis recorded his best result of the season to date when he crossed the finishing line in fifth place at the end of the first tough race around the demanding track in the hills 30 kilometres from the Atlantic coastline. A repeat or better performance was expected in the second race as the teenager charged through the field and was in fifth position again during the opening lap, but a wayward rival caused a collision, the impact snapping the chain of Ferrandis' machine to eliminate him from the race.

Deprived of the services of Valentin Teillet for the remainder of the series after specialists discovered more serious damage in his shoulder than had previously been diagnosed, Rockstar Bud Racing Kawasaki drafted in young Frenchman Jason Clermont for the weekend. Coming back to the GP’s, the former 85cc European Champion who was racing the MX1 class in France tested the bike a few days before the event; he responded admirably to the team’s expectations with points-scoring rides to nineteenth and fifteenth.

Dylan Ferrandis: “ I had a good feeling with this track right from the first practice session, and I qualified in fifth place. My start in the first race was great; I raced top six all race to finish fifth, even though I had some discomfort from pumped-up forearms as it’s the first the this season that I have been racing at the front of the pack. My second start was not as good but I made a lot of good passes on the first lap and had just passed Charlier before he jumped on my bike and my chain was broken with the impact. It’s frustrating, but I’ve no more physical problems and feel that I’m improving and I will soon be battling for podium results.”

Jason Clermont: “I only tested the bike a few hours before coming here, and it was great to come back to the GPs on a good 250. I had good lap times in the races, but I need to improve my starts, to be faster in the corners and be more aggressive during the first few laps to get better results. I came from a long way back in both races to score points each time, and this was a demanding track to race for my return to the GPs.”

Clement Desalle recovers from big crash to finish 3rd in Portugal!

"What can I say? In the first moto I had good speed but I struggled the whole heat. I wasn't relaxed and couldn't find my rhythm. It was not so good, but also not so bad to finish third. In the next moto I was fourth at the start but it was the same thing: I was stuck behind Paulin and found it really difficult to pass. I couldn't find a way, and Cairoli was just ahead. In the last two laps I said to myself 'it's now or never'. I did a good lap-time and got really close to Paulin but had a big crash in the braking bumps and now I have pain everywhere. I picked up the bike and could finish the race but my neck and back is painful. I was in the medical centre and they said I was OK but if tomorrow it is worse then I will go for a scan on Tuesday. I just went into that jump a bit faster than previous laps and the bumps kicked me over the top. I can't remember if the bike hit me or not. It was a hard track but I liked it. I'm disappointed because I felt like I could win the GP. The two guys were just in front of me. Anyway, I did my best and I can only hope for some more fortune in the next races."

Jeremy Seewer podiums at Agueda GP!

Jeremy Seewer podiums at Agueda GP!

Jeremy Seewer: "I'm happy with third in the first race but for sure the win would have been nicer. We have seven races to go so it was a solid way to start. I know I can do better and my goal is the title; top three overall for sure. I have to look towards Ernee and the Grand Prix of France now. The track was completely different today; yesterday it was dry and hard and because of the watering, it was deep and with many ruts. I didn't struggle but there was just one good line in the morning and it was difficult to pass another rider."

Rockstar Energy Racing's Dave Gowland wins Team Manager of the year!

Dave Gowland: "Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is a process. Working together is success. The nice thing about teamwork is that you always have others on your side."

Davi Millsaps podiums for the 12th time in Las Vegas

Davi Millsaps: "Good Season. It's over. 2nd overall. Not too shabby. Gonna come back swinging next year. I did the best I could. It was fun, exciting and I'm looking forward to what's next to come."

Kyle Cunningham podiums in the East/West Shootout!

Kyle Cunningham: "The day started off good and I was feeling really comfortable on the track. I had some really good times in practice and my bike was working great! From there I felt if I just kept the momentum going forward. I got two good starts and put together two good motos with a 4th in the main and a 2nd in the shootout. Overall it was a great night. I kept my head down pushing all day and it was a nice way to end the SX season heading into outdoors. Just want to give a big thanks to the Myplash/Metal Mulisha/Star Racing Yamaha Team. Rockstar Energy Drink and everyone else involved in supporting the team. My mechanic Sean and all my family and friends who were able to be there or watching from home!"

Agueda GP of Portugal Race Report - Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe

Team Suzuki Press Office - May 5.

There were contrasting fortunes for Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe at Agueda for the Grand Prix of Portugal and across the continent in other competitions today.

Under hot sunshine for the sixth round of 17 in the FIM Motocross World Championship Max Anstie classified 10th overall on the factory-backed RM-Z250 while Jeremy Seewer was able to kick off his European EMX250 campaign - the feeder series to the MX2 class - with a podium result and third place.

Agueda, with 15,000 spectators through the weekend, was a bumpy, rutty and very rough prospect that was a challenge both physically and mentally through the limited overtaking chances away from a faster single line. Anstie was hampered by mediocre starts in his motos: The Brit had earlier showed good pace around the undulations with top three lap-times in the practice sessions. For the 35 minute and two-lap races Anstie fought through to ninth and 11th positions, recovering from a second moto crash to get near the top 10.

At the same event, Seewer competed earlier in the day and across a damper terrain. The track had been watered to help contain dust and create a softer surface and the European EMX125 (two stroke machinery) and EMX250 bore the brunt of the muddier conditions.

But first in front of the crowds was Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe team-mate Brian Hsu on the RM125. The teenager circulated just outside the upper-part of the leaderboard and a stomach problem in the second part of the single moto meant he could rise no higher than 11th.

Seewer wheeled out his RMZ-250 for the EMX250 sprint and was making decent laps to remain inside the top four. By the end of the race distance the stylish Swiss had moved up to third and launched his viable bid for the title with a solid result.

On the other side of Europe, Gianluca Facchetti took his RM85 to a double-moto victory at Montevarchi for the third round of five in the Italian Championship while Crisztian Tompa finished fourth overall in the latest outing of the European 85 series to now lead the standings.

The Grand Prix of Brazil at Beto Carrero will represent the next major international meeting for the Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe team on May 19th.

Max Anstie:

"Everything went well yesterday and I put in good times and we were third in both timed sessions; even when I went down in the qualification heat I was able to get up and move my way through. In both races I just felt like I was struggling. We didn't get out of the gate and I don't know why because we have been working so much on the start - it is all I have been doing during the week. On the track I felt like I was coming through OK but having to push very hard to pass. I made a few mistakes and went down in the second moto when I clipped some guy in the air. I was in the wrong place at the wrong time for a few moments today and it set me back. A shame; it could have been a much better weekend."

Jeremy Seewer:

"I'm happy with third in the first race but for sure the win would have been nicer.

Brian Hsu:

"My physical condition was good today but I had a stomach ache from the middle of the moto. I just kept going and tried to get as far as I could. I didn't like the single moto final so much: It means just one chance. There is no second moto or second opportunity. Anyway, I'm enjoying the RM125 because there is plenty of power. With the 85 I was pushing the bike! I like the 125; it's great for learning."

Agueda GP of Portugal Race Report - Rockstar Energy Suzuki World MX1

Team Suzuki Press Office - May 5.

Rockstar Energy Suzuki's Clement Desalle was one of the three fastest riders in the premier MX1 class of the FIM Motocross World Championship at a hot and sunny Grand Prix of Portugal.

The Belgian finished third overall at Agueda for the sixth round of 17 in the series, in front of 15,000 spectators, after battling with Gautier Paulin and Antonio Cairoli in both motos on his factory RM-Z450. Desalle survived a heavy second moto crash while trying to pass Paulin for second place to be able to spray champagne for the fourth time in 2013.

Agueda was a brutal mix of speed, bumps, ruts and forced concentration. The physical and mental demands throughout the two 35-minute and two-lap motos meant it was one of the hardest tracks of the series so far. Desalle came into the weekend as one of the favourites for victory thanks to success in the previous three visits to Agueda. Signs were positive on Saturday as he secured his first pole position of the season, but the terrain was heavily watered through Saturday evening and it meant a deeper and rougher course for Sunday where a single, quick racing line was prevalent.

Desalle had two good starts and together with Paulin and Cairoli set a frantic pace at the front. The 23 year old was frustrated in the first moto with an inability to overtake and a lack of comfort across the Portuguese dirt. He was able to finish second after Cairoli crashed in the closing stages. In the second affair he trailed Paulin for practically the entire distance as Cairoli led. A valiant attack on the penultimate lap cost him when a longer landing from the table-top nearest the crowd threw him into the braking bumps and pitched him off the saddle. Nursing pain in his back and neck Desalle was able to retrieve the bike and motored around the final lap-and-a-half to take fifth.

Team-mate Kevin Strijbos had a weekend to forget. The Belgian was not able to find a groove with the devilish hard-pack and the combination of mediocre starts and heavy arm-pump problems in the first moto eroded his capabilities for a top-five result. The Belgian struggled to 10th in the initial outing and a change of rear suspension helped improve his feeling for the second sprint. A better placing of ninth meant the same spot in the final MX1 ranking.

Desalle is third in the MX1 table and just 15 points behind Paulin while Strijbos is fifth and three points in front of Tommy Searle.

Rockstar Energy Suzuki World MX1 will now immediately prepare for freight with the factory RM-Z material due to be shipped to Beto Carrero where the Grand Prix of Brazil will entertain round seven of the FIM Motocross World Championship on May 19th.

Clement Desalle:

Kevin Strijbos:

"A bad weekend overall and I couldn't get going with the track. Yesterday I had arm-pump and had it again after the first lap of the first moto. I just rode around for the 40 minutes and couldn't pass riders that I normally would do in one corner. I was so angry after that race. We tried a new shock for the second moto and it was better and I had less arm-pump but couldn't find any aggression. I really don't know why. A bad GP: I expected a lot coming here because I've had some decent results in the past. I know the track gets rough and I can be good on it, but today was not my day."

Rockstar Energy Racing Las Vegas Supercross Race Report

The 2013 Supercross season has come and gone in what seemed like nearly a flash. In what is typically an arduous journey of 17 races in 18 weeks, this particular season flew by. With the success Rockstar Energy Racing experienced this year, anticipation levels were very high week in and week out. All of this in a time where many consider this to be one of the best seasons in Supercross history! It was no surprise to see  Dave Gowland pick up  Team Manager of the year.

Davi Millsaps has had a season no one will ever forget. Accomplishing far more than any outside opinion could have dreamed of. From the beginning of the year when his results were considered a fluke to comments on the message boards now exclaiming that next year he will be #1. What a difference a year makes. Unfortunately next year is what Davi's fans are going to be forced to wait for. Millsaps announced at the Vegas press conference that he will be going through a much needed surgery to repair his knee and femur. It's a real testament to his commitment that he even completed the SX season. Certainly a tough decision to make when riding at such a high level, but it is the right one. It will extend his career in the long run and DM will be even better coming in next year. Maybe that is just what he needs to procure that elusive number 1 plate in 2014.

Although the Supercross Championship had been locked up by Ryan Villopoto a week ago in Salt Lake City, there was still 2nd place to be decided. Davi and Ryan Dungey were separated by a mere 3 points coming into Las Vegas. When the gate dropped for the main event the 3 top riders this season quickly found themselves in a familiar position. 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Millsaps did exactly what he needed to by picking up his incredible 12th podium of 2013. He eclipsed Dungey by 1 point, finishing 2nd overall in the championship for the second consecutive year.

Davi Millsaps - "Good Season. It's over. 2nd overall. Not too shabby. Gonna come back swinging next year.I did the best I could. It was fun, exciting and I'm looking forward to what's next to come."

Blake Wharton also matched his season overall from last year with 3rd place in the East Coast 250 Championship. He just missed the podium in his main event with a solid 4th. He was also the top Rockstar Energy Racing rider in the Dave Coombs Sr. East/West Shootout with another top 5.

Jason Anderson picked up the first win of his young career one week ago. In doing so he had great starts all night. He rode good in Sin City but suffered from less than stellar results out of the gate in both the West Coast main and the shootout. He came through the pack good but just had too big of a deficit to make up in both races. He could only manage two 6th place finishes by night's end. Jason finished 4th overall in the series.

Jason Anderson - "It was an alright day. I had bad starts. I've definitely had better starts. I ended up 6th in my main and the shootout and I just rode alright."

Ryan Sipes is still racing himself back into shape after his long layoff. He was able to pick up a top 5 in the West main event however. His result in the shootout was not quite as good as he crossed the finish line in 7th place just behind Anderson.

Ryan Sipes - "It was better than last week I thought. Better than Salt Lake or Seattle. I felt like I rode a little stronger. I'm still not riding like I can but I'm working on it and getting closer. My starts are better so I just need to try to build off of it and take it to outdoors."

The team now has a weekend off of racing so they can make the shift to focusing solely on the Lucas Oil Outdoor Motocross Championship beginning at Hangtown MX in Rancho Cordova, CA. Millsaps will immediately get his surgery out of the way and work to rehab for next season. Anderson who had a good SX season is very excited for MX as he is more comfortable on that style of track. Nico Izzi will be very eager to finally make his return to the race track after a knee injury sidelined him for the entire SX season. Sipes will enjoy the week off to work on returning to his top form. Wharton will also be working on some things to prepare for the much more physically challenging outdoor format.

Davi Millsaps 2nd at Salt Lake City Supercross!

Davi Millsaps: "I gave it everything I had. I seriously had nothing left in me when I crossed that finish line. I was so happy to see the checkers. Ryan Villopoto ran a good last half of the season and I ran a bad one. It was a great run and it was fun racing against those guys. Definitely congratulations to Villopoto. He rode like a champion. It was a learning year for me, I've never been in the front, never had the points lead, let alone have this many podiums. All in all it's been a good season so far and I'm definitely looking forward to next year."

Jason Anderson Wins Salt Lake City Supercross!

Jason Anderson: "My win tonight was good. I got a good start and led the whole main which is something I've never done. I was stoked to do it here in Salt Lake. It was a good race for me. I got my first podium here last year, which was my first time here. To get my first win this year, I'm happy and super excited. I usually just go crazy. Just being calm and putting in my laps made the difference. The whoops were gnarly tonight. I definitely didn't wanna crash the last lap in them. Once I made it through them it was like sigh of relief. It was a good night."

US PRO SNOWBOARDER ELENA HIGHT’S NEW WEBISODE SERIES “NEW HIGHTS” DEBUTS TODAY

FOUR-WEBISODE SERIES FOLLOWS HIGHT THROUGH GROUNDBREAKING SNOWBOARDING SEASON

Lake Tahoe, Calif. -- The first webisode in a new series entitled New Hights featuring US Olympic snowboarder Elena Hight is now live online. The four-webisode series was produced by Rockstar Energy and follows Hight during her 2013 winter season, from rehabbing a hip injury to creating history in women’s snowboarding with a groundbreaking trick in the halfpipe at X Games Aspen.

Elena Hight is one of snowboarding’s premier athletes. At age 23, she is already a two-time Olympian, having represented the US in the halfpipe in Turin and Vancouver. After a record-breaking year for Hight, she has her sights set on the chance to represent the US again in Sochi.

In the premiere episode of New Hights, viewers will see a recap of Hight’s summer in southern California, which concentrates on hip rehabilitation as she prepares for the 2013 competition season. It then follows Elena to her first contest in Breckenridge for the Winter Dew Tour.  The episode closes with Hight back in her hometown of South Lake Tahoe for a Rockstar trip at Sierra Mountain, where she connects with teammates Chas Guldemond and Mason Aguirre to ride with high schoolers from around the country for the winter S.W.A.T. tour.

Run-time on the episode is seven minutes.

During X Games Aspen 2013, Hight landed the first ever double backside alley-oop rodeo in a halfpipe competition by a woman or a man. This trick has taken women’s snowboarding progression to a new level; and will further challenge her fellow athletes as they look towards Sochi in 2014. And it also landed her a silver medal in Aspen.

Follow the series via hashtag: #NewHights

Episode #2 will launch on May 13.

Nicola Butler Claims Pro Women’s Title | Harley Clifford Wins Nautique Wake Games

Orlando, Fla. — Putting an exclamation point on four days of progressive riding across 24 divisions at the Nautique Wake Games presented by Rockstar, Harley Clifford took top honors in the Pro Men’s finals, the event’s elite division. Nicola Butler also went home a champion, putting in a top notch performance to claim first place in the Pro Women’s division.

Making the most of the G23’s huge wake, Harley Clifford boosted his way to first place with a combo of gigantic airs and stylish rail riding. The win gives last year’s King of Wake champion an early upper hand in defending his crown. It was also a great day in Orlando for Clifford’s fellow Aussie countryman Dean Smith, who used his collection of signature airs to lift his way onto second place.

“It was the first contest of the season so I’m super pumped to get the win,” said Clifford. “I had a pretty relaxing offseason now I’m amped for the rest of the year!”

The Pro Women finals saw a heated battle from some of the sport’s top females. Taking top spot on the podium was Nicola Butler, who’s well-balanced run was too much for Raimi Merritt and Dallas Friday to overcome, who finished in second and third respectively.

Claiming the early overall lead in the Overton’s Junior Pro series and earning bragging rights in his division as the 2013 Nautique Wake Games champion was Noah Flegel. Clocking a near flawless finals run, Flegel, 15, pulled off massive aerials that most kids his age can only dream about sticking.

The only event of its kind, the Nautique Wake Games also includes a team format competition featuring 10 teams that includes riders from all 24 divisions. Based on results from day three and four at Wake Games the athletes, which are separated by age, sex and skill level, accumulated points toward a team score based on their individual placement in that division. Team Tony Carroll posted the highest collective score and will hold on to bragging rights for the next year.

Recognized as the best non-professional rider throughout the Nautique Wake Games, Tyler Higham was honored with the PCM Engines top amateur award

As an added bonus, following competition fans were privy to the Polaroid Action Big Air Kicker Contest. Launching from a ramp, athletes pulled some of the biggest airs ever seen. Claiming first place in the specialty event was Dean Smith, who stuck a massive backside 720.

Recognized as the best non-professional rider throughout the Nautique Wake Games, Tyler Higham was honored with the PCM Engines top amateur award.

Salt Lake City Supercross Race Report - Rockstar Energy Racing

Rockstar Energy Racing headed into the mountains in Salt Lake City for the penultimate round of the 2013 Supercross Championship. At an elevation over 4000 feet, the bikes are underpowered and the riders have little time to acclimate to the thinner air. For the first time in several years however, the weather was incredible. With crystal clear skies, perfect temperatures for racing and the Wasatch Mountains creating a picturesque backdrop visible from inside the stadium.

SLC presented without a doubt, the toughest set of whoops this season. They were big, abrupt and hard packed. While that description makes most riders cringe, it's like a gift to Davi Millsaps. Top riders were struggling and dreading them all day. Davi looked at times like he was just going down a straightaway, staying on top of them like they weren't even there. Millsaps was the fastest by a significant margin all day in practice. His heat race was more of the same, crossing the finish line first with Ryan Villopoto in tow. As the first lap of the 450 main event unfolded, all 3 title contenders were up front. Davi moved by Ryan Dungey for second place and began to close on Villopoto. The trio stayed in those positions for the entire race. Typically when a freight train like that takes place, the race is considered boring. This was quite the opposite. Sometimes Villopoto would pull away. Then Dungey would catch Millsaps. Then Millsaps again would be all over the lead. It was an amazing race with 3 intense competitors. It was very evident that they were giving it their all and it was exciting for all fans in attendance at the edge of their seats. When the race concluded they were way ahead of the rest of the pack, all satisfied with their efforts and all had been pushed to their limit.

Jason Anderson really put everything together in Utah. Competitive all day in practice, then nearly catching the leader in his heat race en route to a 2nd place qualifying position. His main event was virtually flawless. Jason got a good start, rode a very smart race and kept his nerves calm for the entire 15 laps. Anderson started in 3rd, then in no time at all moved his way into the lead. He rode out front like veteran would, like a rider who had done it many times. It's been a long road since Jason's rookie season and all his hard work showed Saturday night. Once he got into the lead, he stayed there for every lap on the way to his first career victory, eventually building a 7 second lead. Now that this kid knows he can win, the rest of the 250 class may be in trouble.

Ryan Sipes has had a tough couple weekends to come back to. First, last week returning to a rutty, slick and rainy Seattle Supercross. Then to a tough track in Salt Lake with the elevation variable. Sipes qualified a solid 4th coming through the pack in his heat race. Then in his main he became engaged in a crazy multi rider battle. Everyone from 3rd to 10th was swapping positions. It was like a swarm of bees all criss crossing and flying around the track. Amazing for the fans and fierce for the athletes involved. Yet another tough facet for a rider who has been off the line for several months to overcome. Sipes ended up finishing 7th but could have finished anywhere  from 10th to 3rd. He will look to improve next week where he has won the shootout before.

Ryan Sipes: " Weekend was rough. I'm a little disappointed in myself. It's takin me a while to get back in the racing mode. I get out there and I kinda just lock up. I'm not flowin and I'm not riding nearly as good as I do at the practice track. If I could ride like I practice, I feel like I could be in the hunt for wins. It's not happening right now. Hopefully I can work on some stuff this week and make it better in Vegas."

Rockstar Energy Racing will travel south to Las Vegas next weekend where the temperatures are always high. The team will have 4 main events to try and pick up another victory. Millsaps will look for his 3rd, Anderson his second, Wharton his second and Sipes his first in the final round of this successful season.

Day Two of Nautique Wake Games Sees Strong Performances by Riders of all Ages

Orlando, Fla. — The prevailing theme of day two at the Nautique Wake Games presented by Rockstar was wakeboarding spans multiple generations and knows no borders. Athletes as young as nine and older than 40 and coming from as far away as Brazil put in top tier performances at one of the sport’s most prestigious events.

One of the day’s most competitive divisions proved to be the Men’s 2 with athletes between the ages of 25-29 battling it out for a spot in tomorrow’s final round. Separating himself from the talented field of riders was Tim Pitschke, who leveraged a run that included big airs and prime style to win the heat. Pitschke will be joined in the finals by Corbin Blanton, Rob Corum and Dylan Wickersham.

“Today really spoke to how far the sport of wakeboarding has progressed,” said Chris Bischoff, competition director. “We saw great riding from wakeboarders from all over the world, guys that have been involved with the sport since day one and people that have only discovered the sport in the past year or two. Regardless of age or skill level, everyone was stoked to be part of the Nautique Wake Games today.”

Also registering an impressive display of all-around solid riding at day two was the riders in the Junior Women’s division. The cream of the crop was Larisa Morales who used a strong aerial attack to win her heat. Chloe Mills also put in a formidable performance in the heat to claim a spot in the Junior Women’s finals tomorrow.

Nautique Wake Games Off to Flying Start

Orlando, Fla. — A conglomerate of the world’s best wakeboarders converged on the Orlando Watersports Complex to begin competition of the annual Nautique Wake Games Presented by Rockstar, one the sport’s largest and most prestigious events. Both the Pro Men and Pro Women showed off the results of their offseason training regiment, displaying progressive riding with massive aerials and technical rail maneuvers.

Highlighting the elite Pro Men’s division today was the return of Bob Soven, who was sidelined much of last season from injury. During his triumphant return, Soven unleashed an arsenal of stylish tricks to win his heat and secure a spot in Saturday’s quarterfinals round. The division also saw the highly-anticipated King of Wake professional debut of Mike Dowdy. The winner of last season’s Overton’s Junior Pro Series didn’t disappoint, boosting some of the biggest airs of the day, including the very elusive mute double roll to revert to win his heat and claim a spot in the quarterfinals.

“It’s clear everyone put in a lot of time training during the offseason and came to Wake Games to show off their new and improved bag of tricks,” said Chris Bischoff, King of Wake competition director. “The Nautique G23 is pumping out a perfect wake, so fans can expect to see some huge tricks throughout the event.”

Early indications suggest the Pro Women are bringing female wakeboarding to new heights. Leading the charge during day one at Wake Games was Melissa Marquardt who linked together a well balanced run of big airs and smooth rail work to post the day’s top score of 85.00.

The Nautique Wake Games is stop number one on the eight-event King of Wake Series. Clement Desalle podiums in Bulgaria!

Clement Desalle podiums in Bulgaria!

"I’m happy to take my first podium in Europe! I had some bad luck in the last two grands prix and I was disappointed about that so it feels good to be back. I had some good starts and I’m happy about that and was with Kevin for most the day. Some moves were really close and we had to be careful! It was a good battle for sure and we rode together for almost every lap. I tried some stuff to pass him in the first moto but then had two laps of making mistakes and he made a gap. I concentrated again and got close and then passed him but he came straight back; I didn’t expect him to come so close. Anyway, no crashes, good fighting and this result feels good.”- Clement Desalle

Davi Millsaps Podiums in Seattle!

Davi Millsaps Podiums in Seattle!

"It was a tough race. I made a change before the start. It started raining and I kinda panicked. I shouldn't have made that change but hey, it's racing and I took a chance. It was good in the beginning when it was slippery. But once it tacked up a little bit I was struggling. I'm a very heavy front end rider and I went to a more grippy front tire and it ended up not raining. So you live and you learn. It was a great night though and it was my 10th podium of the year so I'm pretty stoked on that. Also my 7th heat race win. It's just been an awesome season. I know I lost the points lead, then dropped to 3rd and now I'm back to 2nd but it doesn't matter. It's been a great run and the best of the best are all in this class right now and we're all near the front." Davi Millsaps

Sevlievo GP of Bulgaria Race Report - Rockstar BUD Racing Kawasaki

Team Rockstar Bud Racing Kawasaki celebrated this weekend the first MX2 GP podium of Valentin Teillet, who got a third position in the first heat of the MX2 GP of Bulgaria. And in Castelnau de Levis (France) Livia Lancelot got two wins in the European Motocross of Nations, to offer the first ever Women MXON to her country!

Valentin was back this weekend to the GP’s, alongside Dylan Ferrandis for the fifth round of the series on the fast hillside track on the outskirts of Sevlievo. They qualified in ninth (Dylan) and eleventh (Valentin) position on Saturday, and both were surprised on Sunday morning to do the warm up on a wet track after intense watering from the organizers.

Valentin Teillet made an heroic return from injury in Bulgaria to finish an astounding third in the opening moto; fourth at the start, Valentin did a perfect race and passed Butron in the eight lap to secure a fantastic third position behind Herlings and Tixier. His second start was again very good, and he advanced to sixth in the early stages of race before being forced to withdraw with a painful shoulder after a crash. He finish tenth overall of the event.

His young teammate Dylan Ferrandis had been most unfortunate in the first moto as he slipped to the ground in the hectic first turn when he was second, but he fought relentlessly to the chequered flag to finish nineteenth. He then reaped his just rewards in race two with an impressive ride from an initial twelfth to finish ninth. Next GP round in two weeks at Agueda (Portugal) after a French elite championship event this week-end in Villars sous Ecot.

Winner last year of the French Grand Prix in Castelnau de Levis, Livia Lancelot got another double win this weekend in the first ever Women European Motocross of Nations. Livia beats former double World Champion Steffie Laier in the first race, and then dominates reigning World Champion Chiara Fontanesi to win the event alongside Justine Charroux.

Valentin Teillet: “On Saturday it was pretty tough as my shoulder is not so strong, so I was satisfied with eleventh in the qualification. I felt better today, and in the first race I got a good start and then could keep my rhythm to finish third; that’s a great reward for my work with Jacky Vimond. I was in sixth position in the second race but I crashed on a downhill, I not quite sure what happened but I lost too much time to get back on the track to continue with the race. I will go to the doctors for them to look at my shoulder again this week as I never felt confident with it all weekend, and I want to understand why.”

Dylan Ferrandis:” I lost so much time with the crash at the first start that it was difficult to come back, but the second moto was much better. I feel that my speed is coming back, but I must get better starts and stay focused during the entire forty minutes. I will continue to work hard together with the team to get back to my best form; it is less than two months since I was able to start riding my bike again.”

Sevlievo GP of Bulgaria Race Report - Rockstar Energy Suzuki World MX1

Clement Desalle might have walked the podium at Sevlievo for the Grand Prix of Bulgaria and his third trophy of the FIM Motocross World Championship but his double moto battle with Rockstar Energy Suzuki World MX1 team-mate Kevin Strijbos was the highlight of this fifth round of 17.

Sevlievo was hard-pack, ample and fast meaning the slightest mistake was costly and creating, or eroding, any differences on other riders was extremely tricky due to the closeness of the lap-times. Both Desalle and Strijbos - on their works RM-Z450 - gave an excellent demonstration of the character of the hilly circuit that was crowded by 22,000 spectators.

In the first moto it was Strijbos who slotted into second position and had Desalle as a shadow for virtually the entire 35 minute and two-lap distance. The pair formation-flew until Desalle 'switched off' for two circulations, made an error and was victim to an emerging gap to the #22. A renewed effort was finally rewarded with an overtaking move for #25 but Strijbos replied instantly and was then able to control the duel until the finish line for his best race finish in 'yellow' and since coming back to the factory set-up.

Desalle had the initiative in the second moto. This time it was the younger Belgian who had to play the role of being the 'hunted' in what was a tussle for third spot. Strijbos was handicapped by faulty goggles that affected his vision but still showed his team-mate a front wheel on several occasions. By the chequered flag it was Desalle's second moto classification that decided the final rostrum as the duo tied on points and Strijbos had to feel content with fourth overall.

Both Suzuki riders pocketed a tidy bag of numbers for their world championship standing. In the MX1 points table Desalle holds third and is six points off second place. Strijbos is fifth. The FIM Motocross World Championship will gather again in two weeks time for the Grand Prix of Portugal at the customary venue of Agueda, south of Porto.

Clement Desalle:

"I'm happy to take my first podium in Europe! I had some bad luck in the last two grands prix and I was disappointed about that so it feels good to be back. I had some good starts and I'm happy about that and was with Kevin for most the day. Some moves were really close and we had to be careful! It was a good battle for sure and we rode together for almost every lap. I tried some stuff to pass him in the first moto but then had two laps of making mistakes and he made a gap. I concentrated again and got close and then passed him but he came straight back; I didn't expect him to come so close. Anyway, no crashes, good fighting and this result feels good."

Kevin Strijbos:

"It was good today. I got most of it right in the first race; at the end my team-mate passed me and I could get him right back, so I was happy with that. In the second race I felt OK, got a good start but Tony ran wide, hit the berm and I had to slow down a little bit so not to hit him. I was fourth and stayed there the whole time! I was pushing hard but on the fifth lap a rock hit my goggle and the lens popped out, and that was about it. I couldn't get close to Clement and every time I did I had sand in my face and it was flying around when I was going over the jumps. I wasn't happy about that but overall it has been a good weekend. I had good speed for the podium and now I'll work a bit more to try and make it happen in Portugal."

Sevlievo GP of Bulgaria Race Report - Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe MX2

Max Anstie was several metres away from his first podium result in Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe colours after a spirited performance on his factory-backed RM-Z250 resulted in fifth position overall at Sevlievo for the Grand Prix of Bulgaria.

The fifth round of 17 was played out in front of 22,000 spectators surrounding the wide, fast hard-pack: Anstie had to enter the gate in 15th place on Saturday and his mid-gate position didn't help with his starting prowess. The two 35 minute and two-lap motos were a test of overtaking skill and technique for the Brit as the grippy but flat terrain permitted few clear-cut passing opportunities and saw an elevated average speed.

Anstie worked his way from 21st to ninth in the first race; the highlight being an excellent double overtake on Dean Ferris and Mel Pocock. He slotted into the top 10 at the launch of the second sprint and pushed up to fourth position. Anstie circulated on the back wheel of Alessandro Lupino and gave all he had to try and relegate the Italian. Moving up to third would have allowed a spray of champagne but it wasn't meant to be on this occasion.

Julien Lieber had to return home on Saturday afternoon after catching his foot on the ground and twisting his right knee. The young Belgian will head to the advanced Ortema facility first thing tomorrow morning for scans on the joint and for a full diagnosis.

Anstie has 128 MX2 World Championship points; just nine from Christophe Charlier and the top five of the standings. The Grand Prix of Portugal at Agueda is the next major appointment for the Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe team and will take place on May 5th.

Max Anstie:

"I felt strong. Each week we are improving and I'm learning about the bike and the team and they are learning about how I feel. We are getting better and stronger but we just need to figure out the gate. We got out of it in Qatar and Thailand but I had a poor qualification position and we paid the price for it today and had to push through. It made it a little bit difficult. I'm really looking forward to Portugal and also Brazil. It is about time we got on the podium now."

Seattle Supercross Race Report - Rockstar Energy Racing

Rockstar Energy Racing made the trek up to Seattle and back in the open air stadiums of the West. For the second consecutive week less than desirable weather was experienced. Last weekend snow, this weekend rain. For the first time this year the Saturday schedule was abbreviated with the track being covered for as long as possible. The rain actually held off for most the day. Sprinkles didn't really start until the track was uncovered. It rained off and on for much of the night show, but the track never became unridable. It was muddy but not terrible. Sometimes however that condition can be very deceiving. Most riders would rather it rain hard or not at all.

Davi Millsaps looked incredible in the final 450 qualifying practice of the day. Not only was he on top of the leader board for the majority of the practice, but he just kept posting faster and faster times. It was no surprise that he easily won his heat race by several seconds. Then as the track crew was reworking the racing surface prior to the 450 main, the clouds began to spit yet again. Davi decided to have mechanic Steve Westfall change his front tire. The expectant downpour did not arrive however so the tire change was not needed. Millsaps had a decent start and quickly moved into 3rd. At one point he was catching the leaders in front of him and really seemed to be pushing to the front. Then all 3 riders settled into their pace on the tough track and cruised to the finish line.

Ryan Sipes hasn't been able to line up on the gate and race since the middle of January. After breaking his hand in a pile-up at Anaheim 2, then having to have a couple surgeries to repair it, he has been kept off the bike for quite some time. Ryan was ready to make his return, but the unpredictable track made things very difficult. He looked to be riding good enough to pick up a podium however at about the halfway point of the main event. That is about the time his arms began to pump up. Anyone who has ever had arm pump knows it's scary. Imagining arm pump on a slick, rutty Supercross track is a frightening thought for most. It was clear that Sipes was not just going to give up though. He fought for every position and battled with his peers til the bitter end. His speed was there and he needs to take the positives into next week.

"It was an ok weekend. It was a tough one to come back to cause the track was so technical and I was just fighting it. I couldn't find a flow but luckily my starts were really good.In the main I got out and passed Christian [Craig] into 3rd. For about 7 or 8 laps I felt pretty good. The leaders were getting away a little bit, but I was just kind of riding my pace. Then I just got tight. I was afraid to charge stuff cause I thought my hands were gonna come off. I don't really ever get arm pump but I got it tonight. I think it was just because it was my first one back and the track being so gnarly. I gave it everything I had and fought til the end. 7th isn't where I wanna be but there were good parts to the night." - Ryan Sipes

Jason Anderson was very fast all day. Frequently on the qualifying leader board. In his heat race he got a great start, then it was red flagged. After the caution it was a full restart and again Jason rounded the first turn in a stellar position. He rode to a solid 2nd place in the heat but more impressively was the fact that he was catching Eli Tomac and remaining mistake free on a track most riders were faltering on. Things were looking very good going into the main. Unfortunately Anderson's main event did not start as well. He began the race buried in the pack. Then things just got worse. With the track being so rutty, a lot of the riders were looking for new lines on the very edges of the track. Under these circumstances, tuff blocks get kicked into the track frequently. That is exactly what happened just in front of Jason. He could not avoid the tuff block and went down. He is certainly not a 10th place guy, but with everything that took place, he couldn't ask for much more. Anderson nearly won in Salt Lake City last year, so he will be looking forward to next week.

"My night started out good. My starts are getting better. I just need to put it all together with laps and not getting too anxious and not crashing. I was riding good tonight so I can take that away from it. - Jason Anderson

The team trio heads to Utah next week where it has snowed the past several years. Also an open stadium, the hopes will be for a nicer climate than the previous two races. Davi will aim for his 11th podium and 3rd win of the season. Sipes will look to get back on track returning from his injury and Anderson will compete his first career Supercross win.

Double Podium in Minneapolis for Rockstar Energy Racing

"We've got to go back and make a few tweaks on my bike and myself to improve and move forward. The track was kind of inconsistent tonight. It was bumpy in some places where it's normally not, slick in some places and sticky in others. I just struggled a little bit tonight. All day actually, in practice, in the heat and the main. Hopefully I can pull it together in the next race. Definitely good to get another podium. I'm not complaining by any means. A lot of people are looking at the bad this year cause I was in the points lead and now I'm in 3rd. It's just the fact that every single person is in this class. I've never led the points. I've never been on the podium 9 times in one season. It's really been an accomplishment for myself and my team to be up in the front as much as we are. I still feel like we've made a statement. We're here and we're not going anywhere and we're going to keep pushing to move forward." - Davi Millsaps

"Minneapolis, Minnesota. First time for me racing here. I guess the last race was in 2008 so that was cool. Practice was good and my heat race was good. The main was full of action and that first five laps was crazy! Gotta get with the front guys and go, just do my thing. I ended up 3rd, not where I wanted to be, I lost the pace for a minute. But it is what it is, we're going to Vegas now so we'll see how it goes." - Blake Wharton

"Today went good. I think the biggest thing is that you always get expectations. I think that we've set our expectations a lot higher as the series has gone on. We won 2 heat races and that was great. The guys looked really good. Both guys looked great all day. We were on the box and we finished 3rd but we want to win. That's what we've come here for, what we did early on and before the series ends we wanna do it again." - Dave Gowland

Arco di Trento Grand Prix Race Report Rockstar Energy BUD Racing Kawasaki

Rockstar Bud Racing Kawasaki's Dylan Ferrandis snatched sixth place in the fourth round of the FIM MX2 Motocross World Championship at Arco di Trento in northern Italy. It was his best result so far this season, and Dylan will approach the next GPs comfident as he has no more troubles with his broken finger.

The French teenager has been handicapped by a broken finger through the early rounds of the series but showed his resilience to bounce back dramatically at the stony switchback track in the northern Italian province of Trentino. Forced to retire in the qualifying race as a race incident damaged his bike, Dylan got two pretty good starts and two strong finishes were sufficient to place Dylan sixth overall on the day.

The Bud Racing staff and Valentin Teillet decided not to ride in this GP, following doctor’s instructions, as the shoulder he damaged last month needed some more rest. He will have further exams early this week, and expect to be back this week-end in Bulgaria.

The team will head up to Sevlievo (Bulgaria) for the fifth round of the series, next weekend.

Racing another round of the French Women series in La Voulte South east of France, Livia Lancelot got another strong triple win and is now back in second position in the standings, after missing the first round due to his GP racing in Thailand. She will represent team France next weekend in Castelnau de Lévis (France), during the European Motocross of Nations.

Dylan Ferrandis: “On Saturday I had a great start in the qualifying race and I was fifth when the engine stopped with electrical problems, probably the consequence of a collision with Charlier. I was last on the grid, but my first start was good as I was seventh; I even moved forward to sixth but then I suffered some arm pump and had to drop back to eighth. My second start was even better but I was at the outside at the first corner and finally left turn two in fifteenth place. I had a good rhythm in this race and came back to the front places. I’m happy as I have no more problems with my broken finger and got my first good result of the season with a sixth position on the day.”

Stephane Dassé: “Dylan improved his results each weekend and that’s great, he got a sixth place here in Italy and show that he is soon back to his best level. He was unfortunate during the qualifying race but did pretty good starts, he is close to the top five which his our goal; he doesn’t take too much risks and is going faster every week. Concerning Valentin he had pain in his shoulder after Lacapelle Elite; the exams confirmed that nothing is broken but it was better to rest a few days according to the doctors to come back 100% faster.”

Minneapolis Supercross Race Report - Rockstar Energy Racing

Rockstar Energy Racing enjoyed the nicest weather of the year last weekend in Texas. After making the trip north to Minnesota, a drastic change was experienced. Snow in mid April! Uncommonly cold weather for this time of the year coupled with open pits. The locals were not scared off by the cold however and the paddock area was packed as usual. The team also brushed off the low temps and had a very successful evening.

Davi Millsaps has finished on the podium more than not in 2013. After missing the top 3 by a couple positions last week, he wanted to get back to his game. Davi wasn't the fastest guy in practice, and wasn't even in the top 5. That doesn't always tell the story of what is to come however. While a good qualifying time is always important for heat race gate picks, sometimes much of practice is spent dialing in the bike for the night's racing. Although the team is constantly testing, there is typically a need for minor adjustments to make things perfect when competing at the highest level. Whether it's different soil or just a certain section or two on the track.

Davi came out firing immediately after his first drop of the gate. As James Stewart collided with a tuff block just in front of Millsaps and went down. Davi narrowly avoided hitting the soil himself. He careened off Stewart's bike, thrown completely off balance but somehow saved it. He then went on to easily win the heat. In the 450 main event when it seemed he was certain to garner the holeshot, he was contacted heavily enough by Mike Alessi to stall his bike. Fortunately he was able to bump start it and lose little time. Millsaps still salvaged a decent start as he linked up with the 2 leaders in 3rd. As the top 3 pulled a huge lead over the rest of the field, Davi basically rode around all by himself in 3rd en route to yet another podium finish.

We're here and we're not going anywhere and we're going to keep pushing to move forward." - Davi Millsaps

Blake Warton's night was nearly a carbon copy of Davi's. He didn't have his best practice qualifying times of the year, yet went on to cross the finish line in first in his heat race. He didn't get the holeshot in the main but produced a solid start. The difference in the night for Blake was the happenings in his main. The aggression between him and his fellow competitors on the track made for excellent spectating for all. There was a lot of contact throughout the first half of the race. Wharton was getting and dishing blows. At about lap 5, Blake came together with Tyler Bowers. As a result he moved into 3rd place. He then settled into a good pace and completed the 250 main event continuing his podium streak with a solid 3rd, just like Millsaps.

As the East Coast series will now take two weeks off before the final in Las Vegas, Millsaps and team will head to Seattle and rejoin Jason Anderson and Ryan Sipes as the West Coast Series reconvenes.

Grand Prix of Trentino Race Report - Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe MX2, EMX-125 and 85cc

The extensive racing development arm of Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe was stretched today with MX2, EMX-125 and European 85cc riders all in action and showing good speed with RM-Z250, RM125 and RM85 technology across southern Europe.

While Max Anstie rode to seventh overall at Arco di Trento for the Grand Prix of Trentino - with Jeremy Seewer in a decent ninth - Gianluca Facchetti took both race wins in the 85cc event in Spain.

The fourth round of the FIM Motocross World Championship was played out on the narrow and slippery hard-pack Italian course, surrounded by packed spectator enclosures that housed a weekend attendance figure of 23,000. Anstie was able to hone his overtaking skills on the factory-backed RM-Z250 as mediocre starts on the slight uphill drag meant the Briton had to plug his way through the meat of the pack. The deficit around the opening turns practically discounted a first podium finish but Anstie was quietly content to bag a healthy quantity of points with finishes of seventh and ninth.

Jeremy Seewer was buzzing with his top-10 overall ranking. The Swiss was using the Grand Prix as warm-up for the first outing of the European EMX-250 Championship (the feeder series to MX2) in which he is expected to be one of the main protagonists; and bolstered his pedigree with his results in Italy. Steering his RM-Z250 to 12th and 10th Seewer was able to gain some valuable confidence ahead of the first meeting of his campaign at the Grand Prix of Portugal on May 5th.

Julien Lieber was less fortunate. The Belgian was unable to find a decent flow or feeling with the track and his best efforts in the first moto were ruined by a crash at the start and another two small slips that dumped him out of the points. He found some consolation with 12h place in the second affair after barrelling back from a bad launch but was keen to forget his weekend in Italy.

Alongside his four-stroke team-mates was Brian Hsu as Arco di Trento welcomed the first of eight appointments in the European EMX-125 series. The teenager initially fought through the qualification process on Saturday and was disappointed to take 28th in the first moto but gained points and experience with a satisfying 15th in the second outing on Sunday.

Anstie is seventh in the MX2 championship standings with Lieber in 12th as Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe will now plough a course east and to Sevlievo for the Grand Prix of Bulgaria next weekend.

Max Anstie:

"My goal was to go out to have fun and see what it would bring. I struggled with the starts. It was a fast first turn and there were a lot of crashes going on...and then they watered it! We were skating around that track for the first couple of laps and there were guys going down everywhere. I was in the wrong place at the wrong time really. I felt like I rode strongly and pushed the whole race. I felt good but I just started too far back. It is difficult to pass all those guys, especially on a track like this. We'll have to take this as it is. I know what I need to work on for Bulgaria. I cannot thank the team enough because everyone is pushing hard and we are making improvements."

Julien Lieber:

"Today was not good for me. I crashed at the start of the first heat and was right at the back and then I went down again two more times trying to fight through. I don't know where I finished. At the second start I was pushed right off the outside of the first corner. I came around the lap in 17th and then just worked from there. I was not good on the track and didn't have a good feeling. I had the sensation that I was always going to lose the front end. We need to work to be better."

Jeremy Seewer:

"I feel really good. To be ninth overall in the GP was more than I expected - my original goal was to take points - so ninth is awesome and it is fun and beneficial for me to race in this category with these guys. I'm happy with my rhythm for sure."

Brian Hsu:

"This is my first race of the year and I struggled a little bit. Yesterday I sucked! It wasn't my day. I didn't get through the qualifying heat and had arm-pump so I had to make the last chance and go straight to the race. It went OK; the position wasn't great but I felt good about the riding. Today was a different day! The start was better - in the top eight - and I enjoyed it a lot more. I'm really happy with the 125; with more power for sure I can go faster!"

Grand Prix of Trentino Race Report - Rockstar Energy Suzuki World MX1

Rockstar Energy Suzuki World MX1 rolled out of the confined paddock at Arco di Trento for the fourth round of the FIM Motocross World Championship with both of their riders in the top five of the final MX1 standings in the Grand Prix of Trentino, but lamented the chance to pick up another podium trophy.

Clement Desalle guided his works RM-Z450 to third position in the opening moto watched by 23,000 spectators in the shade of the Dolomite Mountains in northern Italy. The twisty, narrow, hard-pack and slippery circuit - formed from a bumpy terrain littered with ripples and braking bumps - was hardly a breeze for overtaking and the Belgian was frustrated not to be able to pass Gautier Paulin for the runner-up position.

Desalle planned a renewed attack in the second race of 35 minutes and two laps duration but his strategy was ruined on the second corner when a collision sent him to the ground. Restarting almost in last spot, a long outing eventually ended with a damage-limiting eighth to put the Qatar GP winner in fourth place overall.

Kevin Strijbos was fifth in the final MX1 listing: The Belgian endured arm-pump and lack of conviction across the Italian soil in the first moto on his way to an otherwise satisfactory sixth position. Tucking into the slipstream of Paulin as the duo cut through the top 10 in the second race paid dividends as Strijbos was able to scale the rankings faster and took his '#22' RM-Z450 to fifth.

Desalle is now third in the points standing but will swiftly have the chance to reverse his luck with round five taking place at Sevlievo for the Grand Prix of Bulgaria next weekend. Strijbos is fifth as the team continues its steady launch to the 2013 campaign.

Clement Desalle:

"The first moto was not too bad but I was disappointed because I was stuck too long behind Gautier Paulin and I could not pass him. My start was better in the second moto. I was third but in the second corner I touched Searle and it was like my bike was glued to his. I don't know what happened. I restarted last and on the second lap I crashed again. I came back to eighth but it was a bad day. My work didn't pay anything back."

Kevin Strijbos:

"I was OK today. I didn't have a good feeling in the first race and when I was behind Leok I was stuck there for a bit and by the time I passed him there was a big gap to the others. Sixth wasn't too bad but I wasn't that happy because I didn't feel sharp and was tired in my arms. I was anxious about the second moto because I wasn't sure how I would get on. My jump was good but the wheel span on part of the gate and then someone - I think it was Simpson - came right across from the inside and hit me all the way to the outside. It felt like I was almost last! The speed and riding was good after that and I moved forward with Gautier and every time he overtook I was able to go past also. I ended up having more confidence than the first moto and I hope I can start the Grand Prix next week with this good feeling from the beginning. I think I can make the podium soon. The pace is there, I just need a few small things to click into place."

MX1 Moto1: 1. Antonio Cairoli (ITA, KTM), 40:31.783; 2. Gautier Paulin (FRA, Kawasaki), +0:03.045; 3. Clement Desalle (BEL, Rockstar Energy Suzuki World MX1), +0:04.537; 4.
