2013 MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour Season Opens in Acworth
Post Date: May.17.2013
Acworth, Ga.– The world’s top professional wakeboarders opened the 22nd season of the MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour in grand fashion today at Lake Acworth Beach. Taking to the water at Cauble Park, the season-opening day featured remarkable performances from a slew of athletes across all three divisions including last year’s Pro Men’s season champion Harley Clifford.
Looking as focused and talented as ever, MasterCraft team rider Clifford used the X-Star’s huge wake to put on a fan pleasing run that was highlighted by massive aerials, gravity-defying rotations and technical rail work. Clifford placed first in his heat, posted a division high-score of 90.00 and advanced to tomorrow’s quarterfinals. In addition to Clifford’s performance, fan favorite Rusty Malinoski also put in a top-tier run posting an 88.33 score to claim his heat and place him as a favorite going into the final day of competition.
“It’s great to start another season of the MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour here in Acworth,” said Chris Bischoff, competition director. “The city is great to work with, the venue is a favorite among the athletes and the conditions on the lake today, matched with the perfect wake from the X-Star, things were firing on all cylinders.”
The Pro Women also showed up in Acworth in top form. Leading the charge were Nicola Butler and Raimi Merritt, who both put in scores of 73.33 to tie for the day’s best among the females. The sport’s all-time winningest woman, Dallas Friday, also dropped a stellar score of 71.33 and will be among the six finalists tomorrow.
Wakeboarding’s future stars in the Overton’s Junior Pro Series competed at today’s event as well. Poised to have a huge year, Aussie-ripper Tony Iacconi had a perfect run posting the day’s only 100-point ride. The Junior Pro Men will commence competition again tomorrow with the semifinals elimination round followed by the finals.
Following the final rounds of action on Saturday, fans can stay for the jaw-dropping Polaroid Action Big-Air Contest. The event will feature top athletes performing exciting and innovative new tricks that aren’t typically attempted in a traditional contest setting.
Immediately following the event, a Block Party will be held in Historic Downtown Acworth that will feature an awards ceremony, live music, outdoor dining opportunities, and much more. The Block Party will run from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Parking will be available in Historic Downtown Acworth and shuttles will be running from various locations to bring visitors down to the party.
Tickets for Saturday’s finals are available online for $7 (46% off the gate price) and include an exclusive Overton’s discount code for online buyers only. Gate prices are: $13 (adult); $5 (ages 6-12); free (ages 5 and under).

Mike Mason Wins Gold in Speed & Style at X Games Barcelona
Post Date: May.17.2013
Mike Mason's Friday night got off to a rocky start after a scoring mix-up during the Speed & Style quarterfinals posted a loss against Jose Miralles, sending Mason back to the pits thinking his night of competing was over. Once notified of the error, he and his mechanics were able to re-assemble his rented bike just in time for the final round against Mat Rebeaud. A three-second lead and higher style points earned the veteran racer gold! With this win, Mason has become Speed & Style's first repeat gold medalist. His first win was in 2012.
Congratulations, Mike Mason!
Simon Tabron Wins Silver in BMX Vert at X Games Barcelona
Post Date: May.17.2013
Congratulations to Simon Tabron on taking silver in BMX Vert at X Games Barcelona! Tabron almost unseated 7-time BMX Vert champion, Jamie Bestwick, with a tied score of 91.00, but ultimately the tiebreaker gave the edge to Bestwick (the five judges' scores from the top-scoring runs are averaged to break a tie).
Tabron will have to wait until 2014 to once again take on the now 8-time champion, as BMX Vert will not be contested at X Games Munich or X Games Los Angeles this year.

Rockstar Energy BUD Racing Kawasaki Double Victory!
Post Date: May.14.2013
Dylan Ferrandis: “My goal this weekend was to get a top 3 and score as many points as possible and after my MX2 win I had a great super final. I was next to Aranda on the grid and I came fourth in the first corner, but there was some confusion in the first uphill and I lost some positions. I came back second behind Greg, that’s a great result on the track against the 450. I keep the red plate and now the goal is to have it after the last round in three weeks, in Gaillac. It’s great for the mental to score such good results after my disappointment in second moto in Portugal, it’s a boost for the World Championship and I hope that we’ll have good racing conditions in Brazil next week-end.”
Gregory Aranda: “ It’s a perfect day for me with the pole position, two holeshot and two heat wins. I think that I’m back to the level I had last year, and I will continue to train and work to get even more. I didn’t took any risks today, for sure when you get two holeshot it’s easier; in the first race I had some arms pumped, and in the second one I didn’t want to crash as I wanted to win both heats. It’s great to win after such a difficult period; I didn’t know what to expect after the last injury, and I had to work hard to be back; two weeks after my injury I had only one goal, to be back on my bike and I want to thanks team Rockstar Bud Kawasaki and my mechanic for their support.”

St. Jean D'Angely French Elite Series Race Report - Rockstar BUD Racing Kawasaki
Post Date: May.13.2013
The penultimate round of the French Elite Motocross championship was a great one for team Rockstar Bud Racing Kawasaki, who dominates both classes. Winner of the MX2 classification Dylan Ferrandis is strongly leading the ‘Internationaux de France’ while Greg Aranda claimed his first double win this season in the MX1 class.
Nobody was able to ride with the Bud riders this weekend, as Dylan and Greg didn’t let anything to their rivals. Best lap time during the practice session, holeshot and all the heat wins were for Greg and Dylan in Saint Jean d’Angely!
Fastest rider in the timed practice period, Dylan Ferrandis had a quiet MX2 race. He grabbed the holeshot and then controls Benoit Paturel, taking even more advantage when they joined the lapped riders to win the heat twenty seconds ahead his rival. Very confident before the super final he had some strong moves after the start to come in fourth place; he passed Paturel for third, and then reduced the gap with Fabien Izoird on a 450. He passed him after mid race to finish runner up behind Aranda and best MX2 rider.
Back to his best form and pole position in the MX1 class, Gregory Aranda had dreaming starts in both races, MX1 heat and super final. Leading the race in the first corner Greg posted some fast laps to secure his leadership; in the MX1 race Soubeyras who was second crashed, so Greg could save some energy for the super final; once more leader in the first corner he had no opposition in this race and scored his first double win this season. A great reward after his injuries earlier this season, and an encouraging performance for the coming Euro Supercross season.
Dylan Ferrandis: “My goal this weekend was to get a top 3 and score as many points as possible and after my MX2 win I had a great super final. I was next to Aranda on the grid and I came fourth in the first corner, but there was some confusion in the first uphill and I lost some positions. Acworth, Ga.– The world’s top professional wakeboarders will now open the 22nd season of the MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour at Lake Acworth Beach at Cauble Park on May 17-18. The event was originally set to take place at Dallas Landing Park, but due to significant rainfall in the area recently and the projected water level of Lake Allatoona it has been relocated.
The new venue will not be able to accommodate public access to the water by way of boat. “Each year the city of Acworth puts in an amazing amount of effort to make this event one of the best on tour,” said Chris Bischoff, competition director. “We would not have been able to make this critical venue change happen without their help and resources. We are excited to bring the MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour to Lake Acworth, the lake is private and the conditions should be great for the riders.”
Among the top riders competing in Acworth are 2012 MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour champion Harley Clifford and top-rival Phil Soven, as well as wakeboarding icon Rusty Malinoski, young guns Steel Lafferty and Shota Tezuka and rookie-of-the-year candidate Mike Dowdy.
Also in the water during the event are the highly-competitive women’s pro division and the junior pro men’s division, which will be showcasing a stacked field of the sport’s future stars.
Following the final rounds of action on Saturday, fans can stay for the jaw-dropping Polaroid Action Big-Air Kicker Contest. The event will feature top athletes performing exciting and innovative new tricks that aren’t typically attempted in a traditional contest setting.

Agueda GP of Portugal Race Report - Rockstar BUD Racing Kawasaki
Post Date: May.8.2013
French teenager Dylan Ferrandis scored a fifth place moto finish for Rockstar Bud Racing Kawasaki in the Portuguese round of the FIM World MX2 Motocross World Championship at Agueda. Newcomer Jason Clermont scored points in both races, for his first GP with the team.
Agueda has always been a demanding track, and for the first time since Thailand the riders had to face ‘hot temperatures’ with 25°C in Portugal. The ground was rough and slippery on Saturday, and was more wet on Sunday as the organisers watered the track during the night.
Now a top ten regular after a difficult start to the season as he recovered from injuries operation this winter, Dylan Ferrandis recorded his best result of the season to date when he crossed the finishing line in fifth place at the end of the first tough race around the demanding track in the hills 30 kilometres from the Atlantic coastline. A repeat or better performance was expected in the second race as the teenager charged through the field and was in fifth position again during the opening lap, but a wayward rival caused a collision, the impact snapping the chain of Ferrandis' machine to eliminate him from the race.
Deprived of the services of Valentin Teillet for the remainder of the series after specialists discovered more serious damage in his shoulder than had previously been diagnosed, Rockstar Bud Racing Kawasaki drafted in young Frenchman Jason Clermont for the weekend. Coming back to the GP’s, the former 85cc European Champion who was racing the MX1 class in France tested the bike a few days before the event; he responded admirably to the team’s expectations with points-scoring rides to nineteenth and fifteenth.
Dylan Ferrandis: “ I had a good feeling with this track right from the first practice session, and I qualified in fifth place. My start in the first race was great; I raced top six all race to finish fifth, even though I had some discomfort from pumped-up forearms as it’s the first the this season that I have been racing at the front of the pack. My second start was not as good but I made a lot of good passes on the first lap and had just passed Charlier before he jumped on my bike and my chain was broken with the impact. It’s frustrating, but I’ve no more physical problems and feel that I’m improving and I will soon be battling for podium results.”
Jason Clermont: “I only tested the bike a few hours before coming here, and it was great to come back to the GPs on a good 250. I had good lap times in the races, but I need to improve my starts, to be faster in the corners and be more aggressive during the first few laps to get better results. I came from a long way back in both races to score points each time, and this was a demanding track to race for my return to the GPs.”
Clement Desalle recovers from big crash to finish 3rd in Portugal!
Post Date: May.7.2013
"What can I say? In the first moto I had good speed but I struggled the whole heat. I wasn't relaxed and couldn't find my rhythm. It was not so good, but also not so bad to finish third. In the next moto I was fourth at the start but it was the same thing: I was stuck behind Paulin and found it really difficult to pass. I couldn't find a way, and Cairoli was just ahead. In the last two laps I said to myself 'it's now or never'. I did a good lap-time and got really close to Paulin but had a big crash in the braking bumps and now I have pain everywhere. I picked up the bike and could finish the race but my neck and back is painful. I was in the medical centre and they said I was OK but if tomorrow it is worse then I will go for a scan on Tuesday. I just went into that jump a bit faster than previous laps and the bumps kicked me over the top. I can't remember if the bike hit me or not. It was a hard track but I liked it. I'm disappointed because I felt like I could win the GP. The two guys were just in front of me. Anyway, I did my best and I can only hope for some more fortune in the next races."
Jeremy Seewer podiums at Agueda GP!
Post Date: May.7.2013
Jeremy Seewer: "I'm happy with third in the first race but for sure the win would have been nicer. We have seven races to go so it was a solid way to start. I know I can do better and my goal is the title; top three overall for sure. I have to look towards Ernee and the Grand Prix of France now. The track was completely different today; yesterday it was dry and hard and because of the watering, it was deep and with many ruts. I didn't struggle but there was just one good line in the morning and it was difficult to pass another rider."

Davi Millsaps podiums for the 12th time in Las Vegas
Post Date: May.7.2013
Davi Millsaps: "Good Season. It's over. 2nd overall. Not too shabby. Gonna come back swinging next year. I did the best I could. It was fun, exciting and I'm looking forward to what's next to come."
Kyle Cunningham podiums in the East/West Shootout!
Post Date: May.7.2013
Kyle Cunningham: "The day started off good and I was feeling really comfortable on the track. I had some really good times in practice and my bike was working great! From there I felt if I just kept the momentum going forward. I got two good starts and put together two good motos with a 4th in the main and a 2nd in the shootout. Overall it was a great night. I kept my head down pushing all day and it was a nice way to end the SX season heading into outdoors. Just want to give a big thanks to the Myplash/Metal Mulisha/Star Racing Yamaha Team. Rockstar Energy Drink and everyone else involved in supporting the team. My mechanic Sean and all my family and friends who were able to be there or watching from home!"

Agueda GP of Portugal Race Report - Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe
Post Date: May.7.2013
Team Suzuki Press Office - May 5.
There were contrasting fortunes for Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe at Agueda for the Grand Prix of Portugal and across the continent in other competitions today.
Under hot sunshine for the sixth round of 17 in the FIM Motocross World Championship Max Anstie classified 10th overall on the factory-backed RM-Z250 while Jeremy Seewer was able to kick off his European EMX250 campaign - the feeder series to the MX2 class - with a podium result and third place.
Agueda, with 15,000 spectators through the weekend, was a bumpy, rutty and very rough prospect that was a challenge both physically and mentally through the limited overtaking chances away from a faster single line. Anstie was hampered by mediocre starts in his motos: The Brit had earlier showed good pace around the undulations with top three lap-times in the practice sessions. For the 35 minute and two-lap races Anstie fought through to ninth and 11th positions, recovering from a second moto crash to get near the top 10.
At the same event, Seewer competed earlier in the day and across a damper terrain. The track had been watered to help contain dust and create a softer surface and the European EMX125 (two stroke machinery) and EMX250 bore the brunt of the muddier conditions.
But first in front of the crowds was Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe team-mate Brian Hsu on the RM125. The teenager circulated just outside the upper-part of the leaderboard and a stomach problem in the second part of the single moto meant he could rise no higher than 11th.
Seewer wheeled out his RMZ-250 for the EMX250 sprint and was making decent laps to remain inside the top four. By the end of the race distance the stylish Swiss had moved up to third and launched his viable bid for the title with a solid result.
On the other side of Europe, Gianluca Facchetti took his RM85 to a double-moto victory at Montevarchi for the third round of five in the Italian Championship while Crisztian Tompa finished fourth overall in the latest outing of the European 85 series to now lead the standings.
The Grand Prix of Brazil at Beto Carrero will represent the next major international meeting for the Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe team on May 19th.
Max Anstie:
"Everything went well yesterday and I put in good times and we were third in both timed sessions; even when I went down in the qualification heat I was able to get up and move my way through. In both races I just felt like I was struggling. We didn't get out of the gate and I don't know why because we have been working so much on the start - it is all I have been doing during the week. On the track I felt like I was coming through OK but having to push very hard to pass. I made a few mistakes and went down in the second moto when I clipped some guy in the air. I was in the wrong place at the wrong time for a few moments today and it set me back. A shame; it could have been a much better weekend."
Jeremy Seewer:
"I'm happy with third in the first race but for sure the win would have been nicer.
Brian Hsu:
"My physical condition was good today but I had a stomach ache from the middle of the moto. I just kept going and tried to get as far as I could. I didn't like the single moto final so much: It means just one chance. There is no second moto or second opportunity. Anyway, I'm enjoying the RM125 because there is plenty of power. With the 85 I was pushing the bike! I like the 125; it's great for learning."

Agueda GP of Portugal Race Report - Rockstar Energy Suzuki World MX1
Post Date: May.7.2013
Team Suzuki Press Office - May 5.
Rockstar Energy Suzuki's Clement Desalle was one of the three fastest riders in the premier MX1 class of the FIM Motocross World Championship at a hot and sunny Grand Prix of Portugal.
The Belgian finished third overall at Agueda for the sixth round of 17 in the series, in front of 15,000 spectators, after battling with Gautier Paulin and Antonio Cairoli in both motos on his factory RM-Z450. Desalle survived a heavy second moto crash while trying to pass Paulin for second place to be able to spray champagne for the fourth time in 2013.
Agueda was a brutal mix of speed, bumps, ruts and forced concentration. The physical and mental demands throughout the two 35-minute and two-lap motos meant it was one of the hardest tracks of the series so far. Desalle came into the weekend as one of the favourites for victory thanks to success in the previous three visits to Agueda. Signs were positive on Saturday as he secured his first pole position of the season, but the terrain was heavily watered through Saturday evening and it meant a deeper and rougher course for Sunday where a single, quick racing line was prevalent.
Desalle had two good starts and together with Paulin and Cairoli set a frantic pace at the front. The 23 year old was frustrated in the first moto with an inability to overtake and a lack of comfort across the Portuguese dirt. He was able to finish second after Cairoli crashed in the closing stages. In the second affair he trailed Paulin for practically the entire distance as Cairoli led. A valiant attack on the penultimate lap cost him when a longer landing from the table-top nearest the crowd threw him into the braking bumps and pitched him off the saddle. Nursing pain in his back and neck Desalle was able to retrieve the bike and motored around the final lap-and-a-half to take fifth.
Team-mate Kevin Strijbos had a weekend to forget. The Belgian was not able to find a groove with the devilish hard-pack and the combination of mediocre starts and heavy arm-pump problems in the first moto eroded his capabilities for a top-five result. The Belgian struggled to 10th in the initial outing and a change of rear suspension helped improve his feeling for the second sprint. A better placing of ninth meant the same spot in the final MX1 ranking.
Desalle is third in the MX1 table and just 15 points behind Paulin while Strijbos is fifth and three points in front of Tommy Searle.
Rockstar Energy Suzuki World MX1 will now immediately prepare for freight with the factory RM-Z material due to be shipped to Beto Carrero where the Grand Prix of Brazil will entertain round seven of the FIM Motocross World Championship on May 19th.
Clement Desalle:
"What can I say? In the first moto I had good speed but I struggled the whole heat. I wasn't relaxed and couldn't find my rhythm. It was not so good, but also not so bad to finish third. Kevin Strijbos:
"A bad weekend overall and I couldn't get going with the track. Yesterday I had arm-pump and had it again after the first lap of the first moto. I just rode around for the 40 minutes and couldn't pass riders that I normally would do in one corner. I was so angry after that race. We tried a new shock for the second moto and it was better and I had less arm-pump but couldn't find any aggression. I really don't know why. A bad GP: I expected a lot coming here because I've had some decent results in the past. I know the track gets rough and I can be good on it, but today was not my day."

Rockstar Energy Racing Las Vegas Supercross Race Report
Post Date: May.7.2013
The 2013 Supercross season has come and gone in what seemed like nearly a flash. In what is typically an arduous journey of 17 races in 18 weeks, this particular season flew by. With the success Rockstar Energy Racing experienced this year, anticipation levels were very high week in and week out. All of this in a time where many consider this to be one of the best seasons in Supercross history! It was no surprise to see Dave Gowland pick up Team Manager of the year.
Davi Millsaps has had a season no one will ever forget. Accomplishing far more than any outside opinion could have dreamed of. From the beginning of the year when his results were considered a fluke to comments on the message boards now exclaiming that next year he will be #1. What a difference a year makes. Unfortunately next year is what Davi's fans are going to be forced to wait for. Millsaps announced at the Vegas press conference that he will be going through a much needed surgery to repair his knee and femur. It's a real testament to his commitment that he even completed the SX season. Certainly a tough decision to make when riding at such a high level, but it is the right one. It will extend his career in the long run and DM will be even better coming in next year. Maybe that is just what he needs to procure that elusive number 1 plate in 2014.
Although the Supercross Championship had been locked up by Ryan Villopoto a week ago in Salt Lake City, there was still 2nd place to be decided. Davi and Ryan Dungey were separated by a mere 3 points coming into Las Vegas. When the gate dropped for the main event the 3 top riders this season quickly found themselves in a familiar position. 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Millsaps did exactly what he needed to by picking up his incredible 12th podium of 2013. He eclipsed Dungey by 1 point, finishing 2nd overall in the championship for the second consecutive year.
Davi Millsaps - "Good Season. It's over. 2nd overall. Not too shabby. Gonna come back swinging next year.I did the best I could. It was fun, exciting and I'm looking forward to what's next to come."
Blake Wharton also matched his season overall from last year with 3rd place in the East Coast 250 Championship. He just missed the podium in his main event with a solid 4th. He was also the top Rockstar Energy Racing rider in the Dave Coombs Sr. East/West Shootout with another top 5.
Jason Anderson picked up the first win of his young career one week ago. In doing so he had great starts all night. He rode good in Sin City but suffered from less than stellar results out of the gate in both the West Coast main and the shootout. He came through the pack good but just had too big of a deficit to make up in both races. He could only manage two 6th place finishes by night's end. Jason finished 4th overall in the series.
Jason Anderson - "It was an alright day. I had bad starts. I've definitely had better starts. I ended up 6th in my main and the shootout and I just rode alright."
Ryan Sipes is still racing himself back into shape after his long layoff. He was able to pick up a top 5 in the West main event however. His result in the shootout was not quite as good as he crossed the finish line in 7th place just behind Anderson.
Ryan Sipes - "It was better than last week I thought. Better than Salt Lake or Seattle. I felt like I rode a little stronger. I'm still not riding like I can but I'm working on it and getting closer. My starts are better so I just need to try to build off of it and take it to outdoors."
The team now has a weekend off of racing so they can make the shift to focusing solely on the Lucas Oil Outdoor Motocross Championship beginning at Hangtown MX in Rancho Cordova, CA. Millsaps will immediately get his surgery out of the way and work to rehab for next season. Anderson who had a good SX season is very excited for MX as he is more comfortable on that style of track. Nico Izzi will be very eager to finally make his return to the race track after a knee injury sidelined him for the entire SX season. Sipes will enjoy the week off to work on returning to his top form. Wharton will also be working on some things to prepare for the much more physically challenging outdoor format.

Davi Millsaps 2nd at Salt Lake City Supercross!
Post Date: Apr.30.2013
Davi Millsaps: "I gave it everything I had. I seriously had nothing left in me when I crossed that finish line. I was so happy to see the checkers. Ryan Villopoto ran a good last half of the season and I ran a bad one. It was a great run and it was fun racing against those guys. Definitely congratulations to Villopoto. He rode like a champion. It was a learning year for me, I've never been in the front, never had the points lead, let alone have this many podiums. All in all it's been a good season so far and I'm definitely looking forward to next year."
Jason Anderson Wins Salt Lake City Supercross!
Post Date: Apr.30.2013
Jason Anderson: "My win tonight was good. I got a good start and led the whole main which is something I've never done. I was stoked to do it here in Salt Lake. It was a good race for me. I got my first podium here last year, which was my first time here. To get my first win this year, I'm happy and super excited. I usually just go crazy. Just being calm and putting in my laps made the difference. The whoops were gnarly tonight. I definitely didn't wanna crash the last lap in them. Once I made it through them it was like sigh of relief. It was a good night."
US PRO SNOWBOARDER ELENA HIGHT’S NEW WEBISODE SERIES “NEW HIGHTS” DEBUTS TODAY
Post Date: Apr.29.2013
FOUR-WEBISODE SERIES FOLLOWS HIGHT THROUGH GROUNDBREAKING SNOWBOARDING SEASON
Lake Tahoe, Calif. -- The first webisode in a new series entitled New Hights featuring US Olympic snowboarder Elena Hight is now live online. The four-webisode series was produced by Rockstar Energy and follows Hight during her 2013 winter season, from rehabbing a hip injury to creating history in women’s snowboarding with a groundbreaking trick in the halfpipe at X Games Aspen.
Elena Hight is one of snowboarding’s premier athletes. At age 23, she is already a two-time Olympian, having represented the US in the halfpipe in Turin and Vancouver. After a record-breaking year for Hight, she has her sights set on the chance to represent the US again in Sochi.
In the premiere episode of New Hights, viewers will see a recap of Hight’s summer in southern California, which concentrates on hip rehabilitation as she prepares for the 2013 competition season. It then follows Elena to her first contest in Breckenridge for the Winter Dew Tour. The episode closes with Hight back in her hometown of South Lake Tahoe for a Rockstar trip at Sierra Mountain, where she connects with teammates Chas Guldemond and Mason Aguirre to ride with high schoolers from around the country for the winter S.W.A.T. tour.
Run-time on the episode is seven minutes.
During X Games Aspen 2013, Hight landed the first ever double backside alley-oop rodeo in a halfpipe competition by a woman or a man. This trick has taken women’s snowboarding progression to a new level; and will further challenge her fellow athletes as they look towards Sochi in 2014. And it also landed her a silver medal in Aspen.
Follow the series via hashtag: #NewHights
Episode #2 will launch on May 13.

Nicola Butler Claims Pro Women’s Title | Harley Clifford Wins Nautique Wake Games
Post Date: Apr.29.2013
Orlando, Fla. — Putting an exclamation point on four days of progressive riding across 24 divisions at the Nautique Wake Games presented by Rockstar, Harley Clifford took top honors in the Pro Men’s finals, the event’s elite division. Nicola Butler also went home a champion, putting in a top notch performance to claim first place in the Pro Women’s division.
Making the most of the G23’s huge wake, Harley Clifford boosted his way to first place with a combo of gigantic airs and stylish rail riding. The win gives last year’s King of Wake champion an early upper hand in defending his crown. It was also a great day in Orlando for Clifford’s fellow Aussie countryman Dean Smith, who used his collection of signature airs to lift his way onto second place.
“It was the first contest of the season so I’m super pumped to get the win,” said Clifford. “I had a pretty relaxing offseason now I’m amped for the rest of the year!”
The Pro Women finals saw a heated battle from some of the sport’s top females. Taking top spot on the podium was Nicola Butler, who’s well-balanced run was too much for Raimi Merritt and Dallas Friday to overcome, who finished in second and third respectively.
Claiming the early overall lead in the Overton’s Junior Pro series and earning bragging rights in his division as the 2013 Nautique Wake Games champion was Noah Flegel. Clocking a near flawless finals run, Flegel, 15, pulled off massive aerials that most kids his age can only dream about sticking.
The only event of its kind, the Nautique Wake Games also includes a team format competition featuring 10 teams that includes riders from all 24 divisions. Based on results from day three and four at Wake Games the athletes, which are separated by age, sex and skill level, accumulated points toward a team score based on their individual placement in that division. Team Tony Carroll posted the highest collective score and will hold on to bragging rights for the next year.
Recognized as the best non-professional rider throughout the Nautique Wake Games, Tyler Higham was honored with the PCM Engines top amateur award
As an added bonus, following competition fans were privy to the Polaroid Action Big Air Kicker Contest. Launching from a ramp, athletes pulled some of the biggest airs ever seen. Claiming first place in the specialty event was Dean Smith, who stuck a massive backside 720.
Recognized as the best non-professional rider throughout the Nautique Wake Games, Tyler Higham was honored with the PCM Engines top amateur award.

Salt Lake City Supercross Race Report - Rockstar Energy Racing
Post Date: Apr.29.2013
Rockstar Energy Racing headed into the mountains in Salt Lake City for the penultimate round of the 2013 Supercross Championship. At an elevation over 4000 feet, the bikes are underpowered and the riders have little time to acclimate to the thinner air. For the first time in several years however, the weather was incredible. With crystal clear skies, perfect temperatures for racing and the Wasatch Mountains creating a picturesque backdrop visible from inside the stadium.
SLC presented without a doubt, the toughest set of whoops this season. They were big, abrupt and hard packed. While that description makes most riders cringe, it's like a gift to Davi Millsaps. Top riders were struggling and dreading them all day. Davi looked at times like he was just going down a straightaway, staying on top of them like they weren't even there. Millsaps was the fastest by a significant margin all day in practice. His heat race was more of the same, crossing the finish line first with Ryan Villopoto in tow. As the first lap of the 450 main event unfolded, all 3 title contenders were up front. Davi moved by Ryan Dungey for second place and began to close on Villopoto. The trio stayed in those positions for the entire race. Typically when a freight train like that takes place, the race is considered boring. This was quite the opposite. Sometimes Villopoto would pull away. Then Dungey would catch Millsaps. Then Millsaps again would be all over the lead. It was an amazing race with 3 intense competitors. It was very evident that they were giving it their all and it was exciting for all fans in attendance at the edge of their seats. When the race concluded they were way ahead of the rest of the pack, all satisfied with their efforts and all had been pushed to their limit.
Jason Anderson really put everything together in Utah. Competitive all day in practice, then nearly catching the leader in his heat race en route to a 2nd place qualifying position. His main event was virtually flawless. Jason got a good start, rode a very smart race and kept his nerves calm for the entire 15 laps. Anderson started in 3rd, then in no time at all moved his way into the lead. He rode out front like veteran would, like a rider who had done it many times. It's been a long road since Jason's rookie season and all his hard work showed Saturday night. Once he got into the lead, he stayed there for every lap on the way to his first career victory, eventually building a 7 second lead. Now that this kid knows he can win, the rest of the 250 class may be in trouble.
Ryan Sipes has had a tough couple weekends to come back to. First, last week returning to a rutty, slick and rainy Seattle Supercross. Then to a tough track in Salt Lake with the elevation variable. Sipes qualified a solid 4th coming through the pack in his heat race. Then in his main he became engaged in a crazy multi rider battle. Everyone from 3rd to 10th was swapping positions. It was like a swarm of bees all criss crossing and flying around the track. Amazing for the fans and fierce for the athletes involved. Yet another tough facet for a rider who has been off the line for several months to overcome. Sipes ended up finishing 7th but could have finished anywhere from 10th to 3rd. He will look to improve next week where he has won the shootout before.
Ryan Sipes: " Weekend was rough. I'm a little disappointed in myself. It's takin me a while to get back in the racing mode. I get out there and I kinda just lock up. I'm not flowin and I'm not riding nearly as good as I do at the practice track. If I could ride like I practice, I feel like I could be in the hunt for wins. It's not happening right now. Hopefully I can work on some stuff this week and make it better in Vegas."
Rockstar Energy Racing will travel south to Las Vegas next weekend where the temperatures are always high. The team will have 4 main events to try and pick up another victory. Millsaps will look for his 3rd, Anderson his second, Wharton his second and Sipes his first in the final round of this successful season.

Day Two of Nautique Wake Games Sees Strong Performances by Riders of all Ages
Post Date: Apr.26.2013
Orlando, Fla. — The prevailing theme of day two at the Nautique Wake Games presented by Rockstar was wakeboarding spans multiple generations and knows no borders. Athletes as young as nine and older than 40 and coming from as far away as Brazil put in top tier performances at one of the sport’s most prestigious events.
One of the day’s most competitive divisions proved to be the Men’s 2 with athletes between the ages of 25-29 battling it out for a spot in tomorrow’s final round. Separating himself from the talented field of riders was Tim Pitschke, who leveraged a run that included big airs and prime style to win the heat. Pitschke will be joined in the finals by Corbin Blanton, Rob Corum and Dylan Wickersham.
“Today really spoke to how far the sport of wakeboarding has progressed,” said Chris Bischoff, competition director. “We saw great riding from wakeboarders from all over the world, guys that have been involved with the sport since day one and people that have only discovered the sport in the past year or two. Regardless of age or skill level, everyone was stoked to be part of the Nautique Wake Games today.”
Also registering an impressive display of all-around solid riding at day two was the riders in the Junior Women’s division. The cream of the crop was Larisa Morales who used a strong aerial attack to win her heat. Chloe Mills also put in a formidable performance in the heat to claim a spot in the Junior Women’s finals tomorrow.
The Nautique Wake Games is stop number one on the eight-event King of Wake Series. Online adult tickets are available for $7 (46% off the gate price) and include an exclusive Overton’s discount code for online buyers only. Gate prices are: $13 (adult); $5 (ages 6-12); free (ages 5 and under). For information on the Nautique Wake Games, presented by Rockstar Energy Drink, visit www.kingofwake.com.

Nautique Wake Games Off to Flying Start
Post Date: Apr.25.2013
Orlando, Fla. — A conglomerate of the world’s best wakeboarders converged on the Orlando Watersports Complex to begin competition of the annual Nautique Wake Games Presented by Rockstar, one the sport’s largest and most prestigious events. Both the Pro Men and Pro Women showed off the results of their offseason training regiment, displaying progressive riding with massive aerials and technical rail maneuvers.
Highlighting the elite Pro Men’s division today was the return of Bob Soven, who was sidelined much of last season from injury. During his triumphant return, Soven unleashed an arsenal of stylish tricks to win his heat and secure a spot in Saturday’s quarterfinals round. The division also saw the highly-anticipated King of Wake professional debut of Mike Dowdy. The winner of last season’s Overton’s Junior Pro Series didn’t disappoint, boosting some of the biggest airs of the day, including the very elusive mute double roll to revert to win his heat and claim a spot in the quarterfinals.
“It’s clear everyone put in a lot of time training during the offseason and came to Wake Games to show off their new and improved bag of tricks,” said Chris Bischoff, King of Wake competition director. “The Nautique G23 is pumping out a perfect wake, so fans can expect to see some huge tricks throughout the event.”
Early indications suggest the Pro Women are bringing female wakeboarding to new heights. Leading the charge during day one at Wake Games was Melissa Marquardt who linked together a well balanced run of big airs and smooth rail work to post the day’s top score of 85.00.
The Nautique Wake Games is stop number one on the eight-event King of Wake Series. Online adult tickets are available for $7 (46% off the gate price) and include an exclusive Overton’s discount code for online buyers only. Clement Desalle podiums in Bulgaria!
Post Date: Apr.23.2013
"I’m happy to take my first podium in Europe! I had some bad luck in the
last two grands prix and I was disappointed about that so it feels good
to be back. I had some good starts and I’m happy about that and was with
Kevin for most the day. Some moves were really close and we had to be
careful! It was a good battle for sure and we rode together for almost
every lap. I tried some stuff to pass him in the first moto but then had
two laps of making mistakes and he made a gap. I concentrated again and
got close and then passed him but he came straight back; I didn’t
expect him to come so close. Anyway, no crashes, good fighting and this
result feels good.”- Clement Desalle
Davi Millsaps Podiums in Seattle!
Post Date: Apr.23.2013
"It was a tough race. I made a change before the start. It started raining and I kinda panicked. I shouldn't have made that change but hey, it's racing and I took a chance. It was good in the beginning when it was slippery. But once it tacked up a little bit I was struggling. I'm a very heavy front end rider and I went to a more grippy front tire and it ended up not raining. So you live and you learn. It was a great night though and it was my 10th podium of the year so I'm pretty stoked on that. Also my 7th heat race win. It's just been an awesome season. I know I lost the points lead, then dropped to 3rd and now I'm back to 2nd but it doesn't matter. It's been a great run and the best of the best are all in this class right now and we're all near the front." Davi Millsaps

Sevlievo GP of Bulgaria Race Report - Rockstar BUD Racing Kawasaki
Post Date: Apr.23.2013
Team Rockstar Bud Racing Kawasaki celebrated this weekend the first MX2 GP podium of Valentin Teillet, who got a third position in the first heat of the MX2 GP of Bulgaria. And in Castelnau de Levis (France) Livia Lancelot got two wins in the European Motocross of Nations, to offer the first ever Women MXON to her country!
Valentin was back this weekend to the GP’s, alongside Dylan Ferrandis for the fifth round of the series on the fast hillside track on the outskirts of Sevlievo. They qualified in ninth (Dylan) and eleventh (Valentin) position on Saturday, and both were surprised on Sunday morning to do the warm up on a wet track after intense watering from the organizers.
Valentin Teillet made an heroic return from injury in Bulgaria to finish an astounding third in the opening moto; fourth at the start, Valentin did a perfect race and passed Butron in the eight lap to secure a fantastic third position behind Herlings and Tixier. His second start was again very good, and he advanced to sixth in the early stages of race before being forced to withdraw with a painful shoulder after a crash. He finish tenth overall of the event.
His young teammate Dylan Ferrandis had been most unfortunate in the first moto as he slipped to the ground in the hectic first turn when he was second, but he fought relentlessly to the chequered flag to finish nineteenth. He then reaped his just rewards in race two with an impressive ride from an initial twelfth to finish ninth. Next GP round in two weeks at Agueda (Portugal) after a French elite championship event this week-end in Villars sous Ecot.
Winner last year of the French Grand Prix in Castelnau de Levis, Livia Lancelot got another double win this weekend in the first ever Women European Motocross of Nations. Livia beats former double World Champion Steffie Laier in the first race, and then dominates reigning World Champion Chiara Fontanesi to win the event alongside Justine Charroux.
Valentin Teillet: “On Saturday it was pretty tough as my shoulder is not so strong, so I was satisfied with eleventh in the qualification. I felt better today, and in the first race I got a good start and then could keep my rhythm to finish third; that’s a great reward for my work with Jacky Vimond. I was in sixth position in the second race but I crashed on a downhill, I not quite sure what happened but I lost too much time to get back on the track to continue with the race. I will go to the doctors for them to look at my shoulder again this week as I never felt confident with it all weekend, and I want to understand why.”
Dylan Ferrandis:” I lost so much time with the crash at the first start that it was difficult to come back, but the second moto was much better. I feel that my speed is coming back, but I must get better starts and stay focused during the entire forty minutes. I will continue to work hard together with the team to get back to my best form; it is less than two months since I was able to start riding my bike again.”

Sevlievo GP of Bulgaria Race Report - Rockstar Energy Suzuki World MX1
Post Date: Apr.22.2013
Clement Desalle might have walked the podium at Sevlievo for the Grand Prix of Bulgaria and his third trophy of the FIM Motocross World Championship but his double moto battle with Rockstar Energy Suzuki World MX1 team-mate Kevin Strijbos was the highlight of this fifth round of 17.
Sevlievo was hard-pack, ample and fast meaning the slightest mistake was costly and creating, or eroding, any differences on other riders was extremely tricky due to the closeness of the lap-times. Both Desalle and Strijbos - on their works RM-Z450 - gave an excellent demonstration of the character of the hilly circuit that was crowded by 22,000 spectators.
In the first moto it was Strijbos who slotted into second position and had Desalle as a shadow for virtually the entire 35 minute and two-lap distance. The pair formation-flew until Desalle 'switched off' for two circulations, made an error and was victim to an emerging gap to the #22. A renewed effort was finally rewarded with an overtaking move for #25 but Strijbos replied instantly and was then able to control the duel until the finish line for his best race finish in 'yellow' and since coming back to the factory set-up.
Desalle had the initiative in the second moto. This time it was the younger Belgian who had to play the role of being the 'hunted' in what was a tussle for third spot. Strijbos was handicapped by faulty goggles that affected his vision but still showed his team-mate a front wheel on several occasions. By the chequered flag it was Desalle's second moto classification that decided the final rostrum as the duo tied on points and Strijbos had to feel content with fourth overall.
Both Suzuki riders pocketed a tidy bag of numbers for their world championship standing. In the MX1 points table Desalle holds third and is six points off second place. Strijbos is fifth. The FIM Motocross World Championship will gather again in two weeks time for the Grand Prix of Portugal at the customary venue of Agueda, south of Porto.
Clement Desalle:
"I'm happy to take my first podium in Europe! I had some bad luck in the last two grands prix and I was disappointed about that so it feels good to be back. I had some good starts and I'm happy about that and was with Kevin for most the day. Some moves were really close and we had to be careful! It was a good battle for sure and we rode together for almost every lap. I tried some stuff to pass him in the first moto but then had two laps of making mistakes and he made a gap. I concentrated again and got close and then passed him but he came straight back; I didn't expect him to come so close. Anyway, no crashes, good fighting and this result feels good."
Kevin Strijbos:
"It was good today. I got most of it right in the first race; at the end my team-mate passed me and I could get him right back, so I was happy with that. In the second race I felt OK, got a good start but Tony ran wide, hit the berm and I had to slow down a little bit so not to hit him. I was fourth and stayed there the whole time! I was pushing hard but on the fifth lap a rock hit my goggle and the lens popped out, and that was about it. I couldn't get close to Clement and every time I did I had sand in my face and it was flying around when I was going over the jumps. I wasn't happy about that but overall it has been a good weekend. I had good speed for the podium and now I'll work a bit more to try and make it happen in Portugal."

Sevlievo GP of Bulgaria Race Report - Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe MX2
Post Date: Apr.22.2013
Max Anstie was several metres away from his first podium result in Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe colours after a spirited performance on his factory-backed RM-Z250 resulted in fifth position overall at Sevlievo for the Grand Prix of Bulgaria.
The fifth round of 17 was played out in front of 22,000 spectators surrounding the wide, fast hard-pack: Anstie had to enter the gate in 15th place on Saturday and his mid-gate position didn't help with his starting prowess. The two 35 minute and two-lap motos were a test of overtaking skill and technique for the Brit as the grippy but flat terrain permitted few clear-cut passing opportunities and saw an elevated average speed.
Anstie worked his way from 21st to ninth in the first race; the highlight being an excellent double overtake on Dean Ferris and Mel Pocock. He slotted into the top 10 at the launch of the second sprint and pushed up to fourth position. Anstie circulated on the back wheel of Alessandro Lupino and gave all he had to try and relegate the Italian. Moving up to third would have allowed a spray of champagne but it wasn't meant to be on this occasion.
Julien Lieber had to return home on Saturday afternoon after catching his foot on the ground and twisting his right knee. The young Belgian will head to the advanced Ortema facility first thing tomorrow morning for scans on the joint and for a full diagnosis.
Anstie has 128 MX2 World Championship points; just nine from Christophe Charlier and the top five of the standings. The Grand Prix of Portugal at Agueda is the next major appointment for the Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe team and will take place on May 5th.
Max Anstie:
"I felt strong. Each week we are improving and I'm learning about the bike and the team and they are learning about how I feel. We are getting better and stronger but we just need to figure out the gate. We got out of it in Qatar and Thailand but I had a poor qualification position and we paid the price for it today and had to push through. It made it a little bit difficult. I'm really looking forward to Portugal and also Brazil. It is about time we got on the podium now."

Seattle Supercross Race Report - Rockstar Energy Racing
Post Date: Apr.22.2013
Rockstar Energy Racing made the trek up to Seattle and back in the open air stadiums of the West. For the second consecutive week less than desirable weather was experienced. Last weekend snow, this weekend rain. For the first time this year the Saturday schedule was abbreviated with the track being covered for as long as possible. The rain actually held off for most the day. Sprinkles didn't really start until the track was uncovered. It rained off and on for much of the night show, but the track never became unridable. It was muddy but not terrible. Sometimes however that condition can be very deceiving. Most riders would rather it rain hard or not at all.
Davi Millsaps looked incredible in the final 450 qualifying practice of the day. Not only was he on top of the leader board for the majority of the practice, but he just kept posting faster and faster times. It was no surprise that he easily won his heat race by several seconds. Then as the track crew was reworking the racing surface prior to the 450 main, the clouds began to spit yet again. Davi decided to have mechanic Steve Westfall change his front tire. The expectant downpour did not arrive however so the tire change was not needed. Millsaps had a decent start and quickly moved into 3rd. At one point he was catching the leaders in front of him and really seemed to be pushing to the front. Then all 3 riders settled into their pace on the tough track and cruised to the finish line.
Ryan Sipes hasn't been able to line up on the gate and race since the middle of January. After breaking his hand in a pile-up at Anaheim 2, then having to have a couple surgeries to repair it, he has been kept off the bike for quite some time. Ryan was ready to make his return, but the unpredictable track made things very difficult. He looked to be riding good enough to pick up a podium however at about the halfway point of the main event. That is about the time his arms began to pump up. Anyone who has ever had arm pump knows it's scary. Imagining arm pump on a slick, rutty Supercross track is a frightening thought for most. It was clear that Sipes was not just going to give up though. He fought for every position and battled with his peers til the bitter end. His speed was there and he needs to take the positives into next week.
"It was an ok weekend. It was a tough one to come back to cause the track was so technical and I was just fighting it. I couldn't find a flow but luckily my starts were really good.In the main I got out and passed Christian [Craig] into 3rd. For about 7 or 8 laps I felt pretty good. The leaders were getting away a little bit, but I was just kind of riding my pace. Then I just got tight. I was afraid to charge stuff cause I thought my hands were gonna come off. I don't really ever get arm pump but I got it tonight. I think it was just because it was my first one back and the track being so gnarly. I gave it everything I had and fought til the end. 7th isn't where I wanna be but there were good parts to the night." - Ryan Sipes
Jason Anderson was very fast all day. Frequently on the qualifying leader board. In his heat race he got a great start, then it was red flagged. After the caution it was a full restart and again Jason rounded the first turn in a stellar position. He rode to a solid 2nd place in the heat but more impressively was the fact that he was catching Eli Tomac and remaining mistake free on a track most riders were faltering on. Things were looking very good going into the main. Unfortunately Anderson's main event did not start as well. He began the race buried in the pack. Then things just got worse. With the track being so rutty, a lot of the riders were looking for new lines on the very edges of the track. Under these circumstances, tuff blocks get kicked into the track frequently. That is exactly what happened just in front of Jason. He could not avoid the tuff block and went down. He is certainly not a 10th place guy, but with everything that took place, he couldn't ask for much more. Anderson nearly won in Salt Lake City last year, so he will be looking forward to next week.
"My night started out good. My starts are getting better. I just need to put it all together with laps and not getting too anxious and not crashing. I was riding good tonight so I can take that away from it. - Jason Anderson
The team trio heads to Utah next week where it has snowed the past several years. Also an open stadium, the hopes will be for a nicer climate than the previous two races. Davi will aim for his 11th podium and 3rd win of the season. Sipes will look to get back on track returning from his injury and Anderson will compete his first career Supercross win.

Double Podium in Minneapolis for Rockstar Energy Racing
Post Date: Apr.16.2013
"We've got to go back and make a few tweaks on my bike and myself to improve and move forward. The track was kind of inconsistent tonight. It was bumpy in some places where it's normally not, slick in some places and sticky in others. I just struggled a little bit tonight. All day actually, in practice, in the heat and the main. Hopefully I can pull it together in the next race. Definitely good to get another podium. I'm not complaining by any means. A lot of people are looking at the bad this year cause I was in the points lead and now I'm in 3rd. It's just the fact that every single person is in this class. I've never led the points. I've never been on the podium 9 times in one season. It's really been an accomplishment for myself and my team to be up in the front as much as we are. I still feel like we've made a statement. We're here and we're not going anywhere and we're going to keep pushing to move forward." - Davi Millsaps
"Minneapolis, Minnesota. First time for me racing here. I guess the last race was in 2008 so that was cool. Practice was good and my heat race was good. The main was full of action and that first five laps was crazy! Gotta get with the front guys and go, just do my thing. I ended up 3rd, not where I wanted to be, I lost the pace for a minute. But it is what it is, we're going to Vegas now so we'll see how it goes." - Blake Wharton
"Today went good. I think the biggest thing is that you always get expectations. I think that we've set our expectations a lot higher as the series has gone on. We won 2 heat races and that was great. The guys looked really good. Both guys looked great all day. We were on the box and we finished 3rd but we want to win. That's what we've come here for, what we did early on and before the series ends we wanna do it again." - Dave Gowland
Arco di Trento Grand Prix Race Report Rockstar Energy BUD Racing Kawasaki
Post Date: Apr.16.2013
Rockstar Bud Racing Kawasaki's Dylan Ferrandis snatched sixth place in the fourth round of the FIM MX2 Motocross World Championship at Arco di Trento in northern Italy. It was his best result so far this season, and Dylan will approach the next GPs comfident as he has no more troubles with his broken finger.
The French teenager has been handicapped by a broken finger through the early rounds of the series but showed his resilience to bounce back dramatically at the stony switchback track in the northern Italian province of Trentino. Forced to retire in the qualifying race as a race incident damaged his bike, Dylan got two pretty good starts and two strong finishes were sufficient to place Dylan sixth overall on the day.
The Bud Racing staff and Valentin Teillet decided not to ride in this GP, following doctor’s instructions, as the shoulder he damaged last month needed some more rest. He will have further exams early this week, and expect to be back this week-end in Bulgaria.
The team will head up to Sevlievo (Bulgaria) for the fifth round of the series, next weekend.
Racing another round of the French Women series in La Voulte South east of France, Livia Lancelot got another strong triple win and is now back in second position in the standings, after missing the first round due to his GP racing in Thailand. She will represent team France next weekend in Castelnau de Lévis (France), during the European Motocross of Nations.
Dylan Ferrandis: “On Saturday I had a great start in the qualifying race and I was fifth when the engine stopped with electrical problems, probably the consequence of a collision with Charlier. I was last on the grid, but my first start was good as I was seventh; I even moved forward to sixth but then I suffered some arm pump and had to drop back to eighth. My second start was even better but I was at the outside at the first corner and finally left turn two in fifteenth place. I had a good rhythm in this race and came back to the front places. I’m happy as I have no more problems with my broken finger and got my first good result of the season with a sixth position on the day.”
Stephane Dassé: “Dylan improved his results each weekend and that’s great, he got a sixth place here in Italy and show that he is soon back to his best level. He was unfortunate during the qualifying race but did pretty good starts, he is close to the top five which his our goal; he doesn’t take too much risks and is going faster every week. Concerning Valentin he had pain in his shoulder after Lacapelle Elite; the exams confirmed that nothing is broken but it was better to rest a few days according to the doctors to come back 100% faster.”

Minneapolis Supercross Race Report - Rockstar Energy Racing
Post Date: Apr.15.2013
Rockstar Energy Racing enjoyed the nicest weather of the year last weekend in Texas. After making the trip north to Minnesota, a drastic change was experienced. Snow in mid April! Uncommonly cold weather for this time of the year coupled with open pits. The locals were not scared off by the cold however and the paddock area was packed as usual. The team also brushed off the low temps and had a very successful evening.
Davi Millsaps has finished on the podium more than not in 2013. After missing the top 3 by a couple positions last week, he wanted to get back to his game. Davi wasn't the fastest guy in practice, and wasn't even in the top 5. That doesn't always tell the story of what is to come however. While a good qualifying time is always important for heat race gate picks, sometimes much of practice is spent dialing in the bike for the night's racing. Although the team is constantly testing, there is typically a need for minor adjustments to make things perfect when competing at the highest level. Whether it's different soil or just a certain section or two on the track.
Davi came out firing immediately after his first drop of the gate. As James Stewart collided with a tuff block just in front of Millsaps and went down. Davi narrowly avoided hitting the soil himself. He careened off Stewart's bike, thrown completely off balance but somehow saved it. He then went on to easily win the heat. In the 450 main event when it seemed he was certain to garner the holeshot, he was contacted heavily enough by Mike Alessi to stall his bike. Fortunately he was able to bump start it and lose little time. Millsaps still salvaged a decent start as he linked up with the 2 leaders in 3rd. As the top 3 pulled a huge lead over the rest of the field, Davi basically rode around all by himself in 3rd en route to yet another podium finish.
We're here and we're not going anywhere and we're going to keep pushing to move forward." - Davi Millsaps
Blake Warton's night was nearly a carbon copy of Davi's. He didn't have his best practice qualifying times of the year, yet went on to cross the finish line in first in his heat race. He didn't get the holeshot in the main but produced a solid start. The difference in the night for Blake was the happenings in his main. The aggression between him and his fellow competitors on the track made for excellent spectating for all. There was a lot of contact throughout the first half of the race. Wharton was getting and dishing blows. At about lap 5, Blake came together with Tyler Bowers. As a result he moved into 3rd place. He then settled into a good pace and completed the 250 main event continuing his podium streak with a solid 3rd, just like Millsaps.

As the East Coast series will now take two weeks off before the final in Las Vegas, Millsaps and team will head to Seattle and rejoin Jason Anderson and Ryan Sipes as the West Coast Series reconvenes.

Grand Prix of Trentino Race Report - Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe MX2, EMX-125 and 85cc
Post Date: Apr.15.2013
The extensive racing development arm of Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe was stretched today with MX2, EMX-125 and European 85cc riders all in action and showing good speed with RM-Z250, RM125 and RM85 technology across southern Europe.
While Max Anstie rode to seventh overall at Arco di Trento for the Grand Prix of Trentino - with Jeremy Seewer in a decent ninth - Gianluca Facchetti took both race wins in the 85cc event in Spain.
The fourth round of the FIM Motocross World Championship was played out on the narrow and slippery hard-pack Italian course, surrounded by packed spectator enclosures that housed a weekend attendance figure of 23,000. Anstie was able to hone his overtaking skills on the factory-backed RM-Z250 as mediocre starts on the slight uphill drag meant the Briton had to plug his way through the meat of the pack. The deficit around the opening turns practically discounted a first podium finish but Anstie was quietly content to bag a healthy quantity of points with finishes of seventh and ninth.
Jeremy Seewer was buzzing with his top-10 overall ranking. The Swiss was using the Grand Prix as warm-up for the first outing of the European EMX-250 Championship (the feeder series to MX2) in which he is expected to be one of the main protagonists; and bolstered his pedigree with his results in Italy. Steering his RM-Z250 to 12th and 10th Seewer was able to gain some valuable confidence ahead of the first meeting of his campaign at the Grand Prix of Portugal on May 5th.
Julien Lieber was less fortunate. The Belgian was unable to find a decent flow or feeling with the track and his best efforts in the first moto were ruined by a crash at the start and another two small slips that dumped him out of the points. He found some consolation with 12h place in the second affair after barrelling back from a bad launch but was keen to forget his weekend in Italy.
Alongside his four-stroke team-mates was Brian Hsu as Arco di Trento welcomed the first of eight appointments in the European EMX-125 series. The teenager initially fought through the qualification process on Saturday and was disappointed to take 28th in the first moto but gained points and experience with a satisfying 15th in the second outing on Sunday.
Anstie is seventh in the MX2 championship standings with Lieber in 12th as Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe will now plough a course east and to Sevlievo for the Grand Prix of Bulgaria next weekend.
Max Anstie:
"My goal was to go out to have fun and see what it would bring. I struggled with the starts. It was a fast first turn and there were a lot of crashes going on...and then they watered it! We were skating around that track for the first couple of laps and there were guys going down everywhere. I was in the wrong place at the wrong time really. I felt like I rode strongly and pushed the whole race. I felt good but I just started too far back. It is difficult to pass all those guys, especially on a track like this. We'll have to take this as it is. I know what I need to work on for Bulgaria. I cannot thank the team enough because everyone is pushing hard and we are making improvements."
Julien Lieber:
"Today was not good for me. I crashed at the start of the first heat and was right at the back and then I went down again two more times trying to fight through. I don't know where I finished. At the second start I was pushed right off the outside of the first corner. I came around the lap in 17th and then just worked from there. I was not good on the track and didn't have a good feeling. I had the sensation that I was always going to lose the front end. We need to work to be better."
Jeremy Seewer:
"I feel really good. To be ninth overall in the GP was more than I expected - my original goal was to take points - so ninth is awesome and it is fun and beneficial for me to race in this category with these guys. I'm happy with my rhythm for sure."
Brian Hsu:
"This is my first race of the year and I struggled a little bit. Yesterday I sucked! It wasn't my day. I didn't get through the qualifying heat and had arm-pump so I had to make the last chance and go straight to the race. It went OK; the position wasn't great but I felt good about the riding. Today was a different day! The start was better - in the top eight - and I enjoyed it a lot more. I'm really happy with the 125; with more power for sure I can go faster!"

Grand Prix of Trentino Race Report - Rockstar Energy Suzuki World MX1
Post Date: Apr.15.2013
Rockstar Energy Suzuki World MX1 rolled out of the confined paddock at Arco di Trento for the fourth round of the FIM Motocross World Championship with both of their riders in the top five of the final MX1 standings in the Grand Prix of Trentino, but lamented the chance to pick up another podium trophy.
Clement Desalle guided his works RM-Z450 to third position in the opening moto watched by 23,000 spectators in the shade of the Dolomite Mountains in northern Italy. The twisty, narrow, hard-pack and slippery circuit - formed from a bumpy terrain littered with ripples and braking bumps - was hardly a breeze for overtaking and the Belgian was frustrated not to be able to pass Gautier Paulin for the runner-up position.
Desalle planned a renewed attack in the second race of 35 minutes and two laps duration but his strategy was ruined on the second corner when a collision sent him to the ground. Restarting almost in last spot, a long outing eventually ended with a damage-limiting eighth to put the Qatar GP winner in fourth place overall.
Kevin Strijbos was fifth in the final MX1 listing: The Belgian endured arm-pump and lack of conviction across the Italian soil in the first moto on his way to an otherwise satisfactory sixth position. Tucking into the slipstream of Paulin as the duo cut through the top 10 in the second race paid dividends as Strijbos was able to scale the rankings faster and took his '#22' RM-Z450 to fifth.
Desalle is now third in the points standing but will swiftly have the chance to reverse his luck with round five taking place at Sevlievo for the Grand Prix of Bulgaria next weekend. Strijbos is fifth as the team continues its steady launch to the 2013 campaign.
Clement Desalle:
"The first moto was not too bad but I was disappointed because I was stuck too long behind Gautier Paulin and I could not pass him. My start was better in the second moto. I was third but in the second corner I touched Searle and it was like my bike was glued to his. I don't know what happened. I restarted last and on the second lap I crashed again. I came back to eighth but it was a bad day. My work didn't pay anything back."
Kevin Strijbos:
"I was OK today. I didn't have a good feeling in the first race and when I was behind Leok I was stuck there for a bit and by the time I passed him there was a big gap to the others. Sixth wasn't too bad but I wasn't that happy because I didn't feel sharp and was tired in my arms. I was anxious about the second moto because I wasn't sure how I would get on. My jump was good but the wheel span on part of the gate and then someone - I think it was Simpson - came right across from the inside and hit me all the way to the outside. It felt like I was almost last! The speed and riding was good after that and I moved forward with Gautier and every time he overtook I was able to go past also. I ended up having more confidence than the first moto and I hope I can start the Grand Prix next week with this good feeling from the beginning. I think I can make the podium soon. The pace is there, I just need a few small things to click into place."

New line up - Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe
Post Date: Apr.10.2013
The FIM Motocross World Championship travels to Italy this weekend for round four of 18 and as the races are scratched off the calendar, so does the full force of the 2013 Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe begin to reveal itself.
The Grand Prix of Italy will see current 85cc World Champion Brian Hsu steer the RM125 as the European EMX125 two-stroke series clicks into gear for the first of eight outings and then it is only a matter of weeks before the EMX250 campaign starts in Portugal.
The German factory-backed team is a living-breathing example of the pyramid structure that now exists in the sport with the idea that the best, most talented and most promising rise up to Grand Prix level and the MX2 category in the FIM World Championship.
For 2013 the Rockstar Energy Drink and Suzuki International Europe supported team can announce the presence of two new talented youngsters: Crisztian Tompa from Romania who rides the RM85 (after finishing third in last year's 65c Junior World Championship)and Gianluca Facchetti on the same two-stroke. The teenage Italian marked his credentials already with results of second and first last week in the first outing of his national championship. Up to the next level is 85cc World Champion Hsu who now pilots the 125cc machine vacated by exciting Spaniard Jorge Zaragoza. Hsu opens his account this weekend at the Arco di Trento circuit while Zaragoza is now part of the ultra-competitive feeder series to MX2 on the RM-Z250 and rides alongside Switzerland's Jeremy Seewer. The latter enters his fifth year of association with the team and, after wild-card MX2 GPs last year, is expected to be one of the front runners in the eight-round contest that kicks-off in Agueda on May 5th.
At the top of the tree is Max Anstie and Julien Lieber on the works RM-Z250s; Anstie ready for Italy on the back of obtaining his first top-three moto finish almost two weeks ago in Holland.
The eclectic group therefore involves an Italian, Romanian, Taiwanese-German, Swiss, Belgian, Briton and a Spaniard and encompasses every category for prosperous racers to move up the scales and levels to the pinnacle of motocross.
"I'm really happy to say that for 2013 we are able to bring a group like this together and through the various nationalities we can show that we're trying to help some of the best youngsters from across the continent and beyond," said Team Manager Thomas Ramsbacher. "This was always the goal of our project with Suzuki and various other loyal partners and when we look back on our history over the past six to seven years, then we've had some great moments when the kids have developed and arrived to the very top.
"It will be exciting to see what Crisztian and Gianluca can do on the 85s while Brian already made his mark in that category and faces his longest season to date," the German added. "Jorge is carrying an injury to his left hand and should be riding again in four-to-five weeks, which means he'll miss the Grand Prix in Portugal but should be fit for France. Jeremy is already at a level where we can expect him to go for the top-three in EMX250 and he will be riding in the MX2 Grand Prix this weekend for extra preparation."
The gaggle of teenagers is complimented by the experienced figure of 2012 Motocross of Nations winner Marcus Schiffer. The German is defending his national championship again this season on RM-Z450 technology and the 25 year old will make various MX1 Grand Prix appearances. If Schiffer enjoys another solid season then he could be in the frame again for a momentous weekend on September 29th at Teutschenthal for the 67th Nations on German turf.
Double Podium for Rockstar Energy Suzuki World MX1
Post Date: Apr.10.2013
Rockstar Energy Suzuki World MX1's Clement Desalle raced to a double victory in a French Championship round at Lacapelle-Marival and Kevin Strijbos finished on the second step of the podium at the Belgian Championship race in Mons at the weekend.
Desalle opted for get the best possible preparation for this coming weekend's Italian GP at the second round of the French 'Elite MotoCross' Championship. He grabbed the holeshot on his RM-Z450 in the first race and kept the lead until the end in front of Sebastien Pourcel and Milko Potisek. The Belgian had a more difficult start in the Superfinal - which combined both MX1 and MX2 classes - but quickly worked his way back up to the top spot again and recorded a perfect 1-1 scorecard.
Strijbos struggled to find a good suspension balance, but managed to finish 3rd behind Ken De Dycker (KTM) and Evgeny Bobryshev (Honda) in the opening French Championship at Mons. With a better set-up found in the second heat, Strijbos found himself in second position behind a strong De Dycker with Bobryshev in third.
Clement Desalle:
"The race went well; it was a bit cold in the morning but it got really good in the afternoon, which were basically the best conditions for this track. The track was perfectly prepared and the soil is very similar to the that from the GP in Arco Di Trento next weekend. I managed to work on a few points and had a good training overall."
Kevin Strijbos:
"After the suspension troubles last weekend we decided to try out some more settings to find the best setup for the next GP. In the first heat we still didn't have the best setup, got to third but couldn't push forward to be able to fight with Bobryshev and De Dycker. We found a better set-up for the second heat which I'm pretty happy about. De Dycker created quite a gap after putting in two super-fast laps in the first couple of rounds, but after that I managed to keep a similar speed, and after Ken got caught in traffic, I even got back close to him. Overall I'm pretty happy with the work we did over the weekend and some improvements we made on the bike."
Overall results 'Elite Motocross' - Lacapelle-Marival, France: 1. Clement Desalle (Rockstar Energy Suzuki World MX1) (25-25) - 2. Sebastien Pourcel (KTM) (22-22) - 3. Milko Potisek (Yamaha) (20-20) - 4. Dylan Ferrandis (Kawasaki) (22-16) - 5. Valentin Teillet (Kawasaki) (25-11).
Overall results 'Belgian Masters of Moto-X ' Mons, Belgium: 1. Ken De Dycker (KTM), 50p - 2. Kevin Strijbos (Rockstar Energy Suzuki World MX1), 42p - 3. Evgeny Bobryshev (Honda), 42p - 4. Jeremy van Horebeek (Kawasaki), 36p. - 5. Shaun Simpson (TM), 32p.

Lacapelle Marival Race Report - Rockstar Energy BUD Racing Kawasaki
Post Date: Apr.9.2013
Coming back racing only two weeks after his big crash in Romagné, Valentin Teillet had a successful day in Lacapelle Marival as he won the MX2 heat of the third round of the French Elite championship. It was a good day for team Rockstar Bud Racing Kawasaki, as Valentin finished second of the event classification, behind his teammate Dylan Ferrandis who won the MX2 classification after the super final, and is the new leader of the series.
On a sunny and natural track that the riders always appreciate, the team placed finally it’s two riders on the highest positions of the MX2 podium with a strong result. Coming back after a two weeks break, Valentin Teillet proved in the timed practice period that he didn’t lost his speed as he got the second position behind Dylan. Fourth at the start of the MX2 heat, he came back second and then joined the leader, passing him on the tenth lap; he then pulled away to secure a fifteen seconds lead, and despite some pain in his left shoulder he won the race with Dylan in second position. Dylan was second at the start behind Paturel, but then he did a big mistake and lost a couple of seconds; third at this moment, he will be back in second to offer a strong 1 and 2 positions to the team. Best MX2 rider at the start of the super finale mixing MX2 and MX1 riders, Dylan did a strong race against the 450 to lead the MX2 riders with a good fifth position overall. Fourteenth at the start, Valentin kept strong and came back in tenth position to finish second MX2 rider in this race and second overall today. He is still in fourth position in the standings but came back closer to the podium and is now 18 points behind Dylan. The team will now move to Italy and Bulgaria for the next two rounds of the GP series, and will be back at the French Elite in Villars sous Ecot on April 28th.
Dylan Ferrandis: “It’s great to be back on the winning step of the rostrum, and more important to race without pain in my broken finger; I have less pain and can focus on my riding now. I was with the leader of the MX2 race when I did a mistake and went back to third position, but finally I scored a strong second position. We had a nice track this weekend, with not so many fast sections so the 250 were more competitive against the 450 in the super final. I had a good start, fighting with Clement Desalle until the first corner, and I was seventh in the second turn. I came back fifth, after a nice fight with Gregory Aranda who was back racing; it was cool and then good to get the red plate as new leader of the series. “
Valentin Teillet: “Of course I was pleased to win the MX2 race, as on Monday after Romagné I didn’t know when I would be back and what I could expect. To be there in Lacapelle was already a reward for me, and I had a great feeling when I won the heat, even if my shoulder was painful; I had a fifteen seconds lead on the finish line, that was perfect! In the Super final I had to be strong to come back in tenth position but this French Elite series is important for me and for the team; it was necessary to score many points. I would like to give some details about my crash in Romagné, as some people say that I was over my limits. That’s false; it was late, the light was not so good and I just didn’t saw a big stone on the track before this big jump. I was lucky not to be seriously injured, we all know when we go behind the starting gate that there are some risks in this sport.”
Houston SX Race Report - Rockstar Energy Racing
Post Date: Apr.8.2013
After a much appreciated Easter break, it was back to business as usual for Rockstar Energy Racing as the east coast series returned to Texas. The team was treated with the nicest weather thus far this year and all were eager to get back to racing. Houston is always a favorite stop for the team as well, as Head Technician Jamie Ellis' father comes out to do some good old fashioned Louisiana cooking. Everyone happily stuffed their faces in between every practice, excited for the nights events to come.
The weekend off came at a very convenient time for Davi Millsaps as he was just beginning to get back close to 100% after the knee injury he sustained a few weeks prior. After a great ride in Toronto with a 2nd place, he really wanted to back that up with another podium. That just wasn't in the cards unfortunately. Davi's customary good starts were not present this weekend in Houston. He was forced to come through the pack in both his heat race and the 450 main event. His heat was actually a very impressive ride as he came from well outside the top ten to catch all the way up to 4th in the short 8 laps. He wasn't as far back in the pack after exiting the first turn in the main but the result was similar. He was only able to muster a 5th. There is nothing wrong with getting a top 5 in the 450 class however. Things just aren't the same as they used to be where a couple fast guys could start anywhere mid pack and come back for the win. Starts are more important than they've ever been with the level of competition on the line each week and 5th is a positive result any way you look at it.
"This weekend was just ok, next weekend will be better" - Davi Millsaps
Blake Wharton left the Canadian Supercross with what could be considered a disappointing podium finish. Although he finished 3rd, he was much faster than that and very capable of pulling off the win there. He entered the week off with a slew of advice from all his supporting cast and knew what he needed to work on. Throughout the day in practice, it was not apparent that he had located the improvements he needed. Blake was a bit frustrated all day. Things began to make a turn for the better once racing started as he completed a solid heat race. Shortly after the 250 main event start, Wharton made his complete u-turn. The first lap was the best one he's ridden in 2013, quickly dicing passed several riders to get out front. He then engaged in a heated battle with Marvin Musquin. The Frenchman briefly moved past Blake to take over the lead position. Wharton immediately fired back aggressively putting himself back into first place. He managed to lead the rest of the entire affair, thwarting multiple pass attempts by points leader Wil Hahn. It was a very exciting and heart pounding race for all viewing the battle. The checkers waived and Wharton bested his competitors for his first win of the season.
"Houston, I thought the the track was good. I thought the layout was good anyway . There were big whoops, a big finish line jump and some big bowl turns. It's nice to come back to Texas and see my family. This was the first race my grandpa has ever been to in his life. He had never been to one while my dad was racing, during my amateur career or since I have been racing professionally. It was cool to have 3 generations here. Not many people know that I was born in Houston. I spent some time growing up racing here, going to 3 palms and other local areas. It was great to get the win in my home state, in front of my family and friends." - Blake Wharton
The team will head to Minneapolis next weekend as the series returns to Minnesota after several years off the schedule. Millsaps will most certainly continue his consistency and strive to return to the podium. Wharton will hit the track full of confidence after his win and recent podium streak. Minneapolis will be the last east coast round before the west coast series returns the following weekend.

Tanner Foust wins 2013 Rallycross Opener
Post Date: Apr.2.2013
Tanner Foust earned the first win of an ambitious international rallycross campaign that will see him contest two major series on three continents this year.
"I couldn't wait to get back in the Rockstar Energy Drink Ford Fiesta ST," said Foust. "We did some testing with the team prior to the event but there's nothing like racing these ridiculously fast cars door-to-door."
The Lydden Hill circuit is the birthplace of rallycross, where the sport debuted its very first races more than 40 years ago. The track is challenging, calling for smooth and tidy driving on the technical road course portions, and full-attack sideways slides through gravel.
"It's a blast. It requires a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde mentality each lap," said Foust. "Half of the track is buttery smooth tarmac and the other half is rough gravel."
Early qualifying saw Foust suffer a flat tire in the first of four heats, but he recovered quickly and advanced to the final round, where he led from wire to wire. He now leads the points in the nine-round European championship.
"Winning the first race after the off-season is a great confidence boost, especially against the highly competitive European field," said Foust. "It means that all our homework and fine-tuning over the winter have paid off. Now we just have to keep up the momentum."
The win puts Foust in a strong position heading into the first Global Rallycross Championship round, held for the first time at X Games Brazil on April 21.
Valkenswaard GP of The Netherlands Race Report - Rockstar Energy Suzuki World MX1
Post Date: Apr.1.2013
Team Suzuki Press Office - April 1.
Rockstar Energy Suzuki World MX1's Kevin Strijbos marked his first top-three moto finish of the 2013 FIM Motocross World MX1 Championship campaign in front of 27,000 spectators at Valkenswaard in the Netherlands today to classify fourth overall while team mate Clement Desalle emerged unscathed from a first corner crash to end the day sixth in the MX1 class.
Valkenswaard was a different prospect to what the riders usually encounter at the facility south of Eindhoven. The cold had hardened the sand significantly so the usual waves of bumps and ruts were reduced and the terrain remained slippery and fast.
Strijbos endured contrasting moto experiences: The Belgian was frustrated with his set-up in the first run of 35 minutes and two laps. He felt powerless to improve on a ranking of seventh position despite a bright start that saw #22 running among the leaders in the formative phases of the race. Several modifications to the forks and also the behaviour of the rear shock paid dividends for the next outing where the track had begun to roughen-up but was still hard-packed in many places. Strijbos was given a new lease of life and was able to keep Evgeny Bobryshev distant in fourth place to notch a very decent third position.
Desalle had his weekend 'checked' in the opening seconds of Moto1 as the Qatar GP winner was the sole victim of the fast, snaking first turn. The Belgian crashed and restarted from last position and some seconds adrift of the final rider in the MX1 posse. He worked his way through to eighth to bag 13 points for his efforts. Cautious out of the gate for the second time of asking in Moto2, Desalle gained ground in the second half of the top 10 and eventually passed Max Nagl to register fifth spot.
The Grand Prix of Italy at Arco di Trento, north west of Venice, will host round four of the series in a fortnight and is followed a week later by a trip to Sevlievo in Bulgaria. Desalle will travel to southern Europe with second position in the Championship and only a 26 deficit to leader Antonio Cairoli. Strijbos has now moved up into fifth place.
Clement Desalle:
"It was really cold this morning but I guess this was not a surprise after yesterday. I had a good jump out of the gate in the first moto but I was really close to some riders around the second corner. It is very fast there and someone touched me - I think it was Leok - and crashed, hitting my head pretty hard. I was dazed for a few seconds there but it wasn't anything too bad and I could find my way back to eighth. I was by myself for the second half of the moto...it was better to have this than a DNF. I was a bit wary of the start for the second moto and I felt a lot of pressure with us all coming so close together. I took some time to pass Nagl and ended up fifth. Nothing special. I was sick during the week so I couldn't train like I wanted. It's not an excuse but I think if I'd have had two days on the bike then perhaps it would have been better today. We will work on because there is still a long way to go and I'm feeling positive."
Kevin Strijbos:
"It was a tale of two different motos really. I had a good start in the first race - around fifth or sixth - and in the beginning I just tried to mix it up but by the third lap I had loads of arm-pump. I couldn't hold on any more and I was so mad about that. I wasn't tired or anything but I just couldn't push. I was angry after the race and I knew with the front fork and the shock the way they were I wouldn't be able to hit the lines and ruts like I wanted. I talked to Frank about the set-up and he tried something drastic that had worked for me in 2011 when I had a few wild-card rides with the team. A big thanks to him because it was so much better. I could move the bike around a lot more and could do what I wanted. It is a bit of a pity we didn't get it sorted for the first race because I could have made the podium today. I had the speed for sure. It is good to make the top three anyway and again I want to thank the team for its support, everyone worked hard and helped me turn this day around."

Valkenswaard GP of The Netherlands Race Report - Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe MX2
Post Date: Apr.1.2013
Team Suzuki Press Office - April 1.
Fourth position overall and a third place in the first moto of the Grand Prix of the Netherlands at a cold and breezy Valkenswaard circuit showed that Max Anstie and the Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe team are pushing their 2013 FIM Motocross World Championship term on the right path.
Some 27,000 spectators shivered through sunny conditions but with a wind chill factor of almost zero degrees. The Dutch sand showed obvious signs of the 'artic climate' over Easter weekend as the terrain was slippery and frozen during the morning sessions and lessened the quantity of rutted and technical bumps through the many turns and jumps. But the course was still a special test of nerve and machine set-up.
Anstie and team-mate Julien Lieber blasted out of the gate for two excellent starts inside the top six in the first moto, using the power of their RM-Z250s to full effect. The Brit maintained a steady speed, holding second for the first five laps of the race and then circulating a safe third behind Jeffrey Herlings and Jordi Tixier. Lieber was not far behind: The young Belgian pushed to keep inside the top six and secured 15 points by the wave of the chequered flag.
The second moto start saw the Suzuki duo tucked deeper into the 40-strong pack. Anstie strove towards sixth position; a ranking that saw him miss the overall podium by three points. Lieber was unlucky not to make the finish after two crashes, but was fortunate to leave Valkenswaard without injury as Jose Butron smashed the #33 RM-Z as the teenager was trying to retrieve the fallen motorcycle the second time. The damage from the collision was extensive and Lieber was forced to retire.
Anstie is currently sixth in the MX2 standings while Lieber is 10th. In two weeks Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe will roll into the paddock of Arco di Trento for the Grand Prix of Italy and then head straight to Sevlievo seven days later for the Bulgarian round.
Max Anstie:
"We did a lot of work in the last couple of weeks but it was all at Lommel and then we come here and the sand is frozen and hard! We were searching all weekend for the right setting and we were also testing a few little bits and pieces, trying to bring it together but it didn't really happen. I had a good start in the first race and ran my pace. We are getting there and this should have been a top-five no problem. I'm not tired physically but I couldn't really ride like I wanted to today. All we can do is keep working and I know we are close. We'll go again in a couple of weeks."
Julien Lieber:
"The first race was pretty good and the start was perfect. I finished sixth and felt a bit tired with some back pain so I wasn't sure what to expect in the second moto. My start wasn't as good and I was behind Banks-Browne in the top 10 when I crashed and then fell again. I was picking up my bike when I saw the other riders coming and had to let it go. It was in no state to ride after it had been hit. I'm really lucky that I'm OK. The track was difficult today."

Toronto Supercross - Blake Wharton finishes in 3rd place
Post Date: Mar.26.2013
"Canada was pretty good but not where I wanted to be. I won the heat race but in the main I need more. My speed is good, I feel like my speed is there. I was picking some lines I shouldn't, doing some things I shouldn't and I just didn't ride the whole time the way I needed to. I feel good on the bike and everything is right there but there are just a few things I'm missing. This weekend is off but it won't really be off. I'm going to do my thing, I'll be riding. There's not really any time to rest during Supercross. Gotta keep sprinting." - Blake Wharton
Toronto Supercross - Davi Millsaps finishes 2nd place
Post Date: Mar.26.2013
"It's definitely good to get a solid weekend under my belt, it's been about 6 weeks for me. I have a weekend off now so I will have a lot of time to practice and get back to where I was. It was a great race for sure, [Ryan] Villopoto rode awesome. I just made a few mistakes here and there and he capatalized on it. He was obviously going faster than me tonight. All in all from the past couple weekends to this weekend, I'm goin in the right direction. It's crazy how 3 days of riding a bike good helps so much. I block passed him in the second turn and he knew I was there so he just had to stand up and let me go by. We're riding clean. There's no reason to get all stupid and punt each other and just be enemies for the next 5 rounds or 2 years. We're riding clean and we'll pass when we have to pass and block pass when we have to block pass. As fast as we're going, to take someone out is wrong. We have more respect than that. If it came down to the championship, I think we'd both try but nothing stupid." - Davi Millsaps
French Elite Romagne Race Report - Rockstar Energy BUD Racing Kawasaki
Post Date: Mar.25.2013
Team Rockstar Bud Racing Kawasaki was on two French tracks this weekend, in Brittany with Valentin Teillet and Dylan Ferrandis for the opening round of the French Elite MX series with a big crowd but also in south of France with Livia Lancelot for the Women series. Livia and Valentin both got heat wins, while Dylan secures a podium result.
Race day was nearly perfect for the team in Romagné, and with five minutes to go in the Super Final the overall result was great with both riders in first and third positions in the series. After his pole position in the timed practice period – two seconds faster than his closest rival - and a strong win in the MX2 race, Valentin Teillet was fighting for a podium result in this combined MX1-MX2 race. Third overall since mid-race, he was fighting for second with Sébastien Pourcel and the local crowd was cheering his hero, running from one track fence to another one! But everyone came silent when Valentin crashed hard on a jump….. During too long minutes no informations came from the Red Cross, but finally we got reassuring news from Valentin who has no fractures and could defend his fourth place in the series in two weeks time at Lacapelle Marival.
Hopefully for Dylan Ferrandis the end of his weekend was much better than the beginning, as he quits Brittany second in the standings just one point behind the leader. Not sure that Dylan was expecting such result after his big crash in the first practice session! With an injured auricular Dylan wasn’t able to hold normally his handle bar, and had pain when he started the timed practice period; just able to do one fast lap, he posted the best time of his group! He nearly grabbed the holeshot in the MX2 race, and scored a fourth position; he had another good start in the super final and finished seventh overall, winning his class after the crash of his teammate.
Missing two weeks ago the opening round of the French Women series, as she was racing the MX2 Grand Prix of Thailand, Livia Lancelot was back in ‘her garden’ for the second round of the national series. And she was back to usual on the muddy track of Salindres, as she posted the fastest lap time in the practice session, grabbed three holeshot and then won the three heats. She is back in sixth in the series, and will continue the series next weekend in Quinsaines, forced to miss the GP of the Netherlands.
Dylan Ferrandis: We did some testing sessions with the team before this race and it was successful, we made some improvement with the suspensions and here I had a very good feeling with my bike. I had a big crash in the first practice session, and damaged the auricular of my left hand, which was painful. I was just able to do one fast lap in qualifications, and I posted the fastest lap of my group. I had a great start in the MX2 race, and I was fighting for the podium when I got a stone in the holeshot kit of my front fork; I had to stop and remove the stone, and I finished fourth. My start in the super final was again good, but racing against the 450 is very tough; I passed Richier in the last laps to finish seventh after the crash of my teammate, and I won the MX2 class. I wish a good recovery to Valentin!”
Livia Lancelot: “The conditions were apocalyptic in Salindres, and when the rain stopped at midday it was even worst for us as the mud was sticky. Due to the French regulation I entered last on the track for the timed practice session as I missed the first race, but I was able to post the fastest lap six seconds ahead of my rivals. Then it’s pretty easy to say, I grabbed three holeshot and got three wins despite a Small crash in race one. I start to regain positions in the series, I’m now in sixth position before the next race, this weekend in Quinsaines (north of France) »

Toronto Supercross Race Report - Rockstar Energy Racing
Post Date: Mar.25.2013
Rockstar Energy Racing traveled internationally to Toronto, Ontario Canada and revisited the success the team has been able to celebrate all year. Once again Davi Millsaps and Blake Wharton graced the podium as a duo in their respective classes. Certainly a positive night for both and a step in the right direction. There is still room for improvement and this 2 week break will give the riders time to work on what they need to land on the top step of the box. It was really impressive to see the team atmosphere when returning to the truck. Millsaps was upstairs coaching Wharton with some very valuable advice. The pair plan to spend time together during the off week at the test track and come out swinging when the series returns. It was a great thing to witness as Davi stated to Blake "You're part of the team. I want you to win for you and for the team, and I will do anything I can to help you."
It's no secret that Davi has been a bit off the past few weeks. It's also known that he sustained a knee injury while practicing before Daytona and has not been able ride nearly as much as he would like. The tides are changing now however. Millsaps rode to a successful 3rd place finish in his heat race. Impressive was not the 3rd place finish but the lap times he was putting down. He was the fastest rider on the track. In the main event, he returned to the form he had early in the season in regards to his starts. He started near the front and immediately found his way into the lead. He continued by leading over half the race before succumbing to Ryan Villopoto. This is when the sign of things to come would be revealed. When Davi was stretching out his points lead in the beginning of the series, he would get passed by a competitor and hastily return fire by stepping up his game and regaining the position. In the weeks he was suffering from his knee injury and couldn't ride midweek, he didn't have an answer for the riders passing him or in front of him. He was essentially on damage control. When Villopoto passed him in Toronto, the team's eyes were focused on how he would react. Initially he fell a bit off the pace but remedied that in just a couple laps. He began closing the gap finishing just behind the leader in 2nd place. Clearly Davi Millsaps is back and a statement was made. The magic is returning and this Supercross Championship is far from over. The upcoming and only break of the season will benefit Davi more than any other rider and he will be eager line up at the gate and contend for the win in Houston.
If it came down to the championship, I think we'd both try but nothing stupid." - Davi Millsaps
Blake Wharton had a lot to be fired up about after the happenings in Indianapolis a week ago. Crashing with a significant lead with half a lap remaining and then being docked 4 more positions in a controversial protest is tough to swallow. Blake needed to rebound. It was clear in practice that he aimed to do just that. Wharton and Wil Hahn were the only two 250 riders successfully and consistently negotiating a very technical triple, triple section. It was no surprise that they were the fastest two riders in practice all day. In Blake's heat race, he opened up a commanding lead en route to another qualifying victory. In the main event he experienced a bit more adversity. Initially he was one of the fastest riders on the track and was closing in on the lead. Then at about the halfway point he was forced to go into protect mode as Hahn was on his heels. Blake began to ride a bit tight but was able to hold on for a very positive 3rd place. He wants to win and there is no question that he has what it takes. He knows what he needs to work on and Davi will be a very big asset to him over the next couple weeks. He too will be counting down the days until he can line up at the gate again and show the world what he can do.
All members of the team will appreciate this well deserved break and a little extra time at home. Both Davi and Blake will not rest much however as their desire is to victorious. They will work hard to find improvements and be ready when the series returns for the second stop in the state of Texas. It is by no means out of the questions to consider the possibility of a double win, and that will be the goal.

Tanner Foust Unveils his 2013 Rockstar Ford Fiesta ST Rally Car
Post Date: Mar.22.2013
Tanner Foust officially unveiled the 2013 Rockstar Energy Drink Ford Fiesta ST rallycross car for his fans during a sneak preview at Bristol Motor Speedway this past weekend.
"Our focus for 2013 is pure rallycross, with X Games, the Global RallyCross Championship and the European Rallycross Championship on the calendar," said Foust.
The driver will compete in an expanded X Games schedule that adds three international stops to the traditional summer event in Los Angeles. The first rallycross competition in the marquee, invitation-only action sport contest takes place April 21 in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil, followed by rounds in Spain in May and Germany in June. X Games Rallycross returns to Los Angeles in August.
But Foust's 2013 competition season opener is less than two weeks away. He travels to the Lydden Hill Race Circuit, in southeast England, for the first round of this year's European Rallycross Championship, March 31 and April 1. Foust is expected to take part in select rounds of the European Rallycross Championship in 2013.
