Thompson Top Ten in St. Louis  /  Mar.31.2014

Rockstar Energy Racing headed to St. Louis, MO with only one healthy rider under the tent in Cole Thompson. The team has been bitten hard by the injury bug this year and Ivan Tedesco was unable to race after his nasty crash last week in Toronto. This weekend marked the last East Coast round for the next 4 weeks until the series reconvenes in Metlife Stadium in New Jersey.

Cole Thompson was coming off his best career finish in Toronto with his first top 5 as a professional rider. He entered St. Louis on a high and was poised to repeat his performance from Canada. If it wasn't...

Team Suzuki Press Office – March 31.

Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe’s Glenn Coldenhoff followed up his rapid pole position at Beto Carrero for the Grand Prix of Brazil with his second podium trophy in three events.

The Dutchman finished as runner-up on the RM-Z250 for what was a suffocating and demanding third round of the FIM Motocross World Championship. Coldenhoff also logged a small career milestone by comfortably winning the second moto for his first chequered flag and first for Suzuki since 2010.

Cloudy skies and a stiff breeze coated the first Brazilian appointment for the MX2...

Team Suzuki Press Office – March 31.

The Grand Prix of Brazil and the third round of 18 in the FIM Motocross World Championship was a positive one for Rockstar Energy Suzuki World MXGP as Clement Desalle celebrated his second podium result of the season in front of 35,000 spectators at Beto Carrero.

The first of two outings in Brazil this season took place at the facility annexed from the popular theme park for the third year in a row. The small and narrow layout was again surrounded by a noisy and boisterous crowd. The gathering added that typical Brazilian flavour found at motorsports...

Team Suzuki Press Office – March 29.

Suzuki RM-Z450 and RM-Z250 machinery marked the fastest pace around the red jumpy and bumpy Beto Carrero circuit today as Kevin Strijbos and Glenn Coldenhoff sealed pole position in the MXGP and MX2 classes respectively for the Grand Prix of Brazil.

Hot and humid conditions greeted this third round of 18 in the FIM Motocross World Championship and after decent starts and an effective rhythm around the Santa Catarina layout, Suzuki celebrated its first Saturday double sweep since the 2010 Grand Prix of Latvia.

Strijbos was in fine form and after...

Rockstar Energy Racing made the journey across the Canadian border for the only International round of the Supercross series and another frozen tundra. With sub zero temperatures, measured in celsius, and howling winds, it was literally bone chillingly cold at times in Toronto. While the atmosphere was much more pleasant inside the stadium, the track itself did not treat riders with a very warm welcome. It was technical and rutted and contained a huge triple that created a lot of close calls on the first lap of every race. The soft soil caused the whoop section to cup out severely, making...

"Round 2 at The General was a mess! It rained 2 inches the morning of the race and made the course pretty nasty. It was probably the worst mud I've ever ridden in. I got a decent start and worked my way up to 4th by mile 2 but had a goggle malfunction and had to pull in for a new pair, leaving me way behind the pack. I was playing catch up from then on, picking my way through guys and getting as high as 6th at one point. I was riding kind of cautious out there, there were mud holes that would swallow the bike if you weren't careful. I feel like I rode better at this race than round 1...

JCR/Honda Race report: 2014 GNCC round 2, Washington, Georgia: "The General". The first two rounds of JCR's GNCC program has been a very "wet" introduction. After a difficult round one that lead to a mud induced overheating issue in Florida, the team regrouped and began the process of preparing for round two in Georgia. Our hopes of a dry race were dashed, as the skies tore open Saturday night and unleashed massive amounts of rain turning the pleasant creek crossings into a torrential, bike-swallowing river that left the course under water in most areas. JCR/Honda's Chris Bach put in a...

Team Suzuki Press Office – March 17.

Rockstar Energy Suzuki’s Clement Desalle and Kevin Strijbos both displayed good form at the Mantova Starcross International Motocross in Italy on Sunday with second and third overall aboard their Factory RM-Z450s.

The event in Mantova is normally a classic pre-season event, but with the early 2014 GP season start in Qatar and Thailand, the organiser opted for a later date in the loaded Motocross calendar.

Desalle was the fastest in Saturday's Superpole race - a crowd-pleasing race between the top qualifying riders. In the first race on Sunday the...

Tedesco sidelined in Detroit  /  Mar.17.2014

The 2014 Supercross season made it's return to Detroit, MI for the first time in several years. It's amazing that Ford Field brought in a sold out crowd in a city that is over halfway deserted. Not only are there abandoned homes and full neighborhoods, but also skyscrapers and factories and entire industrial areas. Somehow the stadium was still packed. The track also had something seldom seen on modern layouts, an uphill and downhill. The course went a significant distance up into the stands and was very steep, mimicking and outdoor style elevation change. While that creativity was...
