Uddevalla GP of Sweden Race Report - Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe

Team Suzuki Press Office - June 30.

Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe's Jeremy Seewer rode to third position to continue his 100% podium run in the third outing for the European EMX250 series at the Grand Prix of Sweden and the 10th round of the FIM Motocross World Championship at Uddevalla today.

In the MX2 class, Max Anstie took his factory-backed RM-Z250 to 14th position overall but it was the Swiss teenager who again grabbed the spotlight with his consistency in the fierce Grand Prix feeder category.

Uddevalla was flanked by a 22,000 attendance that enjoyed good weather compared to the heavy showers on Saturday that turned the track into a slow and technical mudfest. The terrain was repaired and dried quickly on Sunday for a quicker surface with more lines and possibilities.

Seewer had a difficult first lap on his RM-Z250 - when he was held up - and was not able to follow the duel for the lead in a race that was eventually won by championship leader Valentin Guillod. The Swiss sought-out traction and made progress to move into a safe third, which means that he successfully defends second place in the EMX250 standings and stares at a points gap of 13 to his countryman. Jorge Zaragoza was also running at Uddevalla but classified outside of the points after being penalised due to jumping through yellow flags.

In the MX2 Grand Prix motos, Max Anstie again struggled to get away with the leading group. The Brit endured a day of fighting and scrapping for positions. He managed 12th in the first moto and 16th in the second for 14 world championship points in total. The youngster is ninth in the MX2 standings.

Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe packs-up and moves east to Kegums for the Grand Prix of Latvia next weekend where the EMX250 will again be part of the world championship racing schedule.

Across the continent, Gianluca Facchetti won the last two motos of the Italian 85cc Championship and therefore also the national title on his RM85.

Jeremy Seewer:

"Being on the podium three times is good for the championship but Guillod has three wins in a row so he has a little gap over me. Today my start was not the best and on the first lap somebody crashed right in front of me; that didn't help me out and I had to come from 13th to third. For that I'm happy with the result."

Max Anstie:

"I really don't know what I can say. We are all working and I am trying as hard as I can. Again the lap-times are good and we are showing that in practice but I cannot get away with the position that I need from the starts. I'm a bit at a loss now. I am not tired and I am fit to go fast. I don't feel that I am riding badly; we just need to catch a break."
