The Chris Bach Story

Chris Bach comes from a racing family. His dad had raced when he was younger
and put Chris on his first bike when he was 3 years old to share his passion
for motorcycles. Chris was a quick study and he started racing the youth class at the local
Hare Scrambles around Indiana, Illinois when he was at the early age of 5.
By the time Chris reached 15 years old he had moved on to racing the more
prestigious OMA Hare Scramble series where he worked his way through the
ranks. In 2009, Chris was recruited to head out West and challenge the
popular WORCS series but the deal was short lived. Chris made a point to
come out West and reached the podium in his 1st WORCS outing. From there,
Chris knew he was destined to headed back East and compete in the largest
Off-Road series in the United States, GNCC. He started out in the 450A
division and after working hard to get his program squared away the wins
started coming. He finished out the 2009 season with a string of top-10
overall finishes including the highest overall result that any GNCC amateur
class racer has achieved to date. Skipping the XC2 class, Chris lined up in the XC1 (the most prestigious GNCC class). He came out swinging with 2-podium finishes in a row. To top it off,
Chris won the GNCC 2010 rookie of the year award. 2011 and 2012 were
difficult years for Chris. He entered his sophomore year in the XC1 class
with high expectations, but struggled to get his team and program working
properly. This, combined with a knee injury suffered at the end of 2011,
kept him from his goals. When the 2013 season came around, Chris refocused
with a solid program. He devised a plan to get back to the podium finishes
he is capable of. With his results squarely in his own hands, Chris began to
methodically work his way back to the podium where he expects himself to be,
finding his speed and consistency. Chris finished the 2013 season with 3rd
overall in the XC1 championship, his highest result to date. Re-analyzing
his efforts, Chris was looking to increase his support for the following
year. As the 2014 season approached, Johnny Campbell contacted Chris about
riding for JCR/Honda's newly formed GNCC effort. Chris had always dreamed of
racing for Honda, the plan was quickly executed and the dream became a

"The benefits of working alongside Johnny and riding a capable weapon like
the CRF450R are awesome. I am supremely confident in Johnny and the
JCR/Honda team's approach to racing and excited to have that level of
experience and passion on my side. It's a great thing for a racer and my
expectations for this team are high. It will be an exciting year!" -- Chris
